AGKO Youth Leadership Institute (YLI) was in full service mode as our amazing youth leaders prepared goodie bags for Teacher Appreciation! 🍎📚💚💗

This quarter, our YLI students were challenged to create a service project that would make a positive impact—and this thoughtful initiative was their very own idea. We are so proud of their creativity, leadership, and heart for service.

The YLI students will proudly provide these appreciation bags to the dedicated educators at Heritage Junior High and Angleton Junior High Schools as a token of gratitude.

Thank you to all teachers for your dedication, patience, and commitment. We celebrate you!

AGKO did it! 🩷💚 We’re beyond excited to be recognized by the International Standards Committee with the S.O.A.R. Award (Successful Operational Assessment Reporting)—recognized in the South Central Region—at the 94th SCRC!

Major shoutout to our Unforgettable AGKO Leaders for the collaboration, dedication, and hard work it took to organize and act in compliance with AKA standards.

🩷💚 AGKO is officially back in the swing of things, and our February Chapter Meeting did not disappoint! We handled sorority business while proudly wearing red in support of the American Heart Association. Our medical professional sorors provided blood pressure screenings and shared valuable education on the importance of heart health. We also engaged in a meaningful discussion on the Black history of our service area in Southern Brazoria County. In addition, we packed CHIPP bags to help address food insecurity among youth in our community. To top it off, AGKO welcomed five sorors to our chapter. A powerful time of service, education, and sisterhood!

We kicked off 2026 the AGKO way—with energy, purpose, and sisterhood! 💗💚 Our first chapter meeting set the tone as we continued our Empower Our Families Initiative, packing CHIPP bags to fight childhood hunger—80 bags packed in less than 30 minutes!

The highlight of the day was joyfully welcoming Soror April Jenkins-Hughes home to AGKO. Reclaiming one of our pearls made this day even more special. ✨ Together, we are soaring to greater heights of service and sisterhood as we set our Unforgettable A.G.E.N.D.A.

Thank you to AGKO for an incredible year of service in 2025 at the GMZ Food Shelf at Greater Mount Zion Church. A special shout-out to our First Vice President, Taya Alfred, and our Uplift Our Local Community Lead, LeChelle Elmore, for their outstanding leadership and dedication. We are so proud of the IMPACT we continue to make and the countless lives we’ve touched across Southern Brazoria County.

Since February 2022, AGKO members have faithfully volunteered at GMZ. Now approaching four years of service, we have impacted thousands of families by packing and distributing fresh produce, dried goods, and meats. This meaningful collaboration with GMZ’s nonprofit directly addresses family food insecurity during a critical time of need in Texas.
