We’ve just wrapped up our on-Country gathering and wanted to take a moment to share how it went.
It was a strong few days. Mob travelled from across the region and even up from Victoria to be there, making their own way to come together, which says a lot about how important these spaces are. We had good numbers, good energy, and a genuine sense of people reconnecting with each other and with Country and culture.
Our Elders led the way, sharing knowledge, stories, and guidance throughout. We spent time on Country, including visits to culturally important places in the region, learning and building on art and crafting skills, and having a yarn along the way, with men’s and women’s business respected and held properly.
Since finishing up, we’ve already had others reach out asking how they can be part of the next one. That’s a good sign that this is something our community wants and values.
We’re really looking forward to building on this and bringing mob together again soon.
