$11,111 raised ✔️
Awareness raised ✔️
I just wanted to give an update and a few more thank you’s.
Thank you to my parents, Wendy and Peter and my wife Tasmin who were out their in shifts every step of the way helping with my food, water supplies and putting my shoes on my feet, when I couldn’t and my daughter Summer who has been so caring in helping me recover.
Thank you to everyone who came out in the rain and walked parts of the walk with me, you guys were amazing. For everyone who came to the railway hotel celebration.
Firstly thanks to every single person who liked this page, sent comments and messages and supported the walk in any way.
A big thank you to all the individuals who donated and helped us raise money we smashed the 5k goal and with a few small donations still to come have raised $11,111. This includes everyone who bought raffle tickets which raised over $800. Donations are still open until Friday for anyone who would still like to donate.
A big thank you to all the businesses, who got involved and put flyers in windows, donated, gave raffle items or helped with my preparation/recovery. I’m going to do a seperate post recapping all the businesses who got behind this charity that I had already mentioned but a few I didn’t get to before the walk was Cornfords hardware , beauty by tyleesha, weightless float Temora, Tahliah Carlin hairdresser.
Thank you to all the media outlets for sharing the story and helping in raise awareness.
WHATS NEXT- the question everyone has been asking.
- Recovery and down time and some reflection on these past few weeks. It still hasn’t sunk in what this walk truly achieved.
- thanking everyone involved
- The Shaka project wants to put the money back in to the community so potentially a mental health workshop in Temora, at schools or workplaces or football clubs. If anyone would be keen to have the Shaka project come to their club, school or workplace send me a message and we can have a chat about it.
YES there will be another challenge, not sure when or what but I’m definately keen and want to keep raising awareness. But with my wife Tasmin being pregnant and sick she is the priority alongside my daughter Summer for now.
For anyone reading this struggling but are scared to speak out or don’t know how, reach out to friends, family, or proffessionals. Your mind is the most important part of you and keeping it healthy is so important.
Big love to you all
Adam
