Bumblebee kicked off winter at the Falls Creek annual Ice Plunge, our fourth consecutive year attending. The weather had definitely read the brief this year as the 80+ participants were met with fresh snow as well as the freezing waters of Rocky Valley Dam. We loved coming together with our local community to help raise funds for Fight MND 🧊🥶🐝

Congratulations to Josh Saunders, Bumblebee family member and long time fundraising supporter! Fantastic interview with 7NEWS Melbourne today in the lead up to the Big Freeze at the 'G next weekend. As winner of a competition run by Fight MND, Josh will be the first ever MND community member to slide at the MCG as part of the Big Freeze festivities prior to the Melbourne vs Collingwood AFL match! We were honored to be there with Josh and family at the MCG today, telling our family's story and paying tribute to Neale Daniher's legacy.

Vale Neale Daniher. No single person has more significantly contributed to MND research, or changed the trajectory of attaining a cure for MND in Australia more drastically than Neale. Before there was Fight MND and the Big Freeze, research funding and clinical trials for MND in Australia were almost non existent. Neale represented a beacon of hope for those impacted by MND and their families. And his ongoing legacy will continue to provide this shining light.
The team at Bumblebee for MND want to express sincere condolences to Jan and the rest of Neale's family. Neale will continue to inspire the work we do as we push forward raising awareness and funds for MND care and research. The fight will continue 💛🖤

Last week the Bumblebee Team attended a local MND seminar in Wangaratta held by MND Victoria. It was lovely to connect with others affected by MND in our local area as well as meet some of the medical, allied health and support workers providing care to impacted families. While a cure for MND remains our goal, it's so important that until that day comes, people with MND have access to excellent care and support.
