Ben Sedlen is a valued member of our community and much loved member of the Taree Wildcats, who unfortunately, on the 14th of September 2024, suffered a haemorrhagic stroke.
This has left Ben with right side defects, mild aphasia and cognitive impairments. He spent 2 weeks in the ICU before being moved to the stroke ward for a further 2 weeks. On the 14th October he was transferred to Rankin Park Rehabilitation Centre where he commenced intensive therapy. After 6 weeks he returned home, with weekly visits to Rankin Park continuing.

Ben has showed extraordinary strength and determination in his fightback to good health with the support of his incredible family and friends. Although the outcome of his journey so far has been promising, this has been life altering for him and his family.

This day is in support for Ben and his family, not only to help with the costs involved in his rehabilitation and recovery, but to celebrate his hard fought comeback!
