Well unfortunately, the ongoing fuel crisis has forced Variety Motoring NSW & ACT to make the tough decision to cancel the 2026 NSW Bash scheduled for May.

We’re absolutely gutted. One of the best parts of the Bash is getting out into regional and remote communities across NSW spreading cheer, connecting with locals, and helping bring much needed support to these towns through meals, accommodation, and the odd 🍻 .

The silver lining is that Variety will still honour all the grants pledged to the schools and community groups along the planned route 💛

And this isn’t the end, just a pause. We’re now gearing up for the B to B Bash in August, and we can’t wait to hit the road again then!

In the meantime, you can still get involved and support an amazing cause by jumping on board the Variety Move in May initiative 🚴‍♀️ 🚶‍♂️🏃‍♂️🏊‍♀️

We have an important update regarding the 2026 Variety NSW Bash. The decision has been made to postpone this year’s event to 2027 – a decision we never wanted to make.

The NSW Bash means a great deal to our Variety motoring community. But this year, fuel availability and rising costs mean we can’t proceed without placing additional pressure on the regional communities we support.

We know this is disappointing.

While the Bash cars won’t be on the road this May, our commitment to kids across NSW and ACT remains unchanged. All planned grants along the route will still be delivered.

Entrants will receive further details directly regarding funds raised and next steps.

While we can’t motor in May, we’re not standing still. Get behind our new initiative Move In May. Walk, run, ride or move your way and help us continue supporting kids who need it most.
