WildCare Victoria is a 100% voluntary service established to support those who rescue and rehabilitate orphaned and injured native wildlife. WileCare is operated by Dr. Robyn Coy who has spent a lifetime involved in the study and care of Australian wildlife. The shelter is now one of the largest in Victoria, attending to hundreds of animals each year and controlling over 600 acres of land dedicate

d to wildlife conservation. Robyn is assisted by a small but dedicated team of volunteers. The shelter has excellent facilities for all types of wildlife from tiny marsupial mice and bats, to lizards and turtles, echidnas, birds of prey, parrots, possums, wombats, wallabies and kangaroos. Robyn has specialized in the care of kangaroos and wallabies for many years, and has the experience and expertise to handle and care for these large marsupials which few in Victoria can match. An Emergency Treatment and Training Centre was established at the shelter following the Black Saturday fires, when the shelter was called on to care for hundreds of injured wildlife without access to any wildlife hospital facilities. Local and visiting vets provide 24/7 veterinary assistance to the animals at low or no cost, while qualified volunteer staff attend to the animals’ recovery. Both the main Shelter and the Treatment Center have many ongoing costs. Veterinary and medication costs often run into hundreds of dollars monthly. Feeding and providing safe housing also costs hundreds per month. In addition, we desperately need to acquire equipment for our rescue and treatment activities. A portable X-ray machine, a portable anesthetic machine, a sterilizing unit (autoclave) and a replacement 4WD vehicle are just some of the highly expensive equipment for which we must raise funds. All Wildlife Shelters in Victoria are strictly controlled by rules laid down by the DEPI, and are totally voluntary. The authorized operator self-funds the shelter, and rely heavily on donations from the public. Small grants are sometimes available from the Department for specific items such as fire protective clothing. All donations made to the shelter are use in the care of wildlife. There are NO administration costs and all members are volunteers. WildeCare Victoria is a 100% volunteer organisation. The Australian wildlife depends upon wildlife carers and we depend upon your generosity to continue our work. Please donate today and help save the injured and orphaned animals. Donations can be made directly to the shelter.

Hi all supporters and friends. We need your help again. Our mum has the drop on a heap of fencing to make us safe but we need donations to help her buy it.

We have new neighbours that shoot us if we stray onto their place so mum is faced with two options. Give up rescuing kangaroos or keep us safe.

Just $3 will get us 1 meter of protection. We are aiming at 3 km to ensure we can live a hoppy life Can you spare the price of a coffee or two……. Please

Donations can be made directly into mum’s account

Update on our girl Kiki. Many people donated toward Kiki’s life saving surgery almost 2 years ago. This morning her first joey got out of her pouch for the very first time. Kiki brought her into the animal house for safety ( and because it’s raining lol).

It is with great sadness we mark the passing of one of our founding members, Mrs Sheila Butler.
Sheila was a remarkable woman and a passionate kangaroo carer. Quiet and thoughtful, honest and loyal. One of my best friends ever. We will miss you greatly. Condolences to Mark, Vincent and their families
