🌿 Walaaybaa Junior Rangers – Term 2 Wrap-Up! 🌿
We’re proud to introduce our new Youth Program Mentor, Richard Chatfield, who had an incredible first term working alongside our Junior Ranger students in term 2! 🙌
The team focused their energy on completing the Peel Wetlands project, a huge achievement considering the limited time we had to complete it. Despite the challenges, our Junior Rangers showed leadership, teamwork, and determination, especially with our Junior Ranger TAFE students stepping up during NAIDOC Week to finish strong.
To finish off the term, the group teamed up with ecologist Phil Sparks to explore native wildlife and habitats, deepening their understanding of why wetlands are vital ecosystems to protect.
The Peel Wetlands project was proudly funded by Qantas and delivered in partnership with Peel High, Oxley High, Tamworth High, Farrer, and of course, the Walaaybaa Junior Ranger team.
Many of our Junior Rangers are working toward their Cert II in Conservation and Ecosystem Management, and their commitment this term was nothing short of inspiring. 👏
We’re so proud of what’s been achieved and with big plans brewing for Term 3, we can’t wait to show you what’s next.
