Our Organisation Receives Recognition from the UN Refugee Agency (UNHCR)
Our organisation has announced that it has received recognition from the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees, marking an important achievement that reflects growing confidence in its humanitarian and community work and strengthens its role as an active partner in issues affecting refugees and communities impacted by conflict.
This recognition opens the door to expanding the organisation’s work and strengthening its engagement with government bodies and relevant institutions in Australia, supporting its efforts to seek broader recognition of the massacres and violations that took place in Suwayda during the July events, while helping to bring the voices of victims and affected communities to international forums and decision-makers.
The recognition is also expected to enhance the organisation’s ability to advocate for Druze refugees and support their humanitarian needs, contributing to efforts aimed at providing protection and assistance to the most affected groups in cooperation with relevant institutions and international partners.
The organisation affirmed that this achievement will serve as a strong motivation to continue its humanitarian and advocacy work, further establishing its role as a platform that represents community concerns and strives to create a positive and lasting impact at both the local and international levels.

In cooperation with our organization, UIA, alongside a number of international organizations and associations, the organization “Druze Nexus” submitted an urgent appeal to international and UN bodies, calling for immediate intervention to address the escalating education crisis in Sweida Governorate, warning that the future of thousands of students is at risk due to security conditions and restrictions preventing safe access to examinations and higher education.
The letter confirmed that more than 13,500 secondary school students are facing uncertainty regarding their ability to sit for national examinations, amid decisions requiring them to leave Sweida and travel through unsafe areas to reach examination centers, despite the existence of functioning schools and educational infrastructure capable of hosting the exams within the governorate itself.
It also highlighted that more than 6,000 university students from Sweida have experienced disruption or suspension of their education since 2025 as a result of threats, harassment, and the deteriorating security situation, forcing many to pause their studies out of concern for their personal safety.
The signatory organizations called for allowing Baccalaureate examinations to be conducted inside Sweida, officially recognizing the educational outcomes of the 2025–2026 academic year, providing safe solutions for university students to continue their education, and supporting local educational institutions to ensure continuity of the educational process and prevent students from being deprived of their fundamental right to education.
The letter stressed that the continuation of obstacles related to security, mobility, and academic recognition threatens an entire generation of students, while affirming the signatories’ readiness to provide documentation and testimonies necessary to support any international effort aimed at resolving the crisis.

We strongly condemn the genocide, violence, and ongoing atrocities being committed. We stand hand in hand, raising our voices together so the world knows that the ethnic cleansing and violence against Druze, Kurds, and Christians in Syria must end.
