This week, we join the nation in recognising and celebrating the incredible contributions of over 3 million carers across Australia.

Today on Aged Care Employee Day, we honour the dedication and compassion of Australia’s aged care workforce.

With the number of Australians turning 80 set to triple annually from next year, demand for aged care will rise significantly - across home care, residential care, and community services. Meeting this challenge will require doubling the care workforce by the early 2030s. In fact, care worker is on track to become the nation’s largest occupation.

At Acura Home Care, we see the vital impact our care workers have every single day - supporting older Australians to live independently, with dignity, connection, and purpose.
Their work goes far beyond tasks - it’s about addressing complex health and social issues like frailty, dementia, and loneliness. They are skilled, kind, resilient - and their contributions often go unrecognised in the broader health system.

1️⃣ Check your current agreement - Look for any notice periods or exit fees. Don’t stress - unspent funds move with you!

2️⃣ Compare your options - Choose a provider that suits your needs and is upfront about fees.

3️⃣ Reactivate your referral code - Call 1800 200 422 and ask My Aged Care to reactivate your Home Care Package code.

4️⃣ Notify your current provider - Let them know you're switching and agree on an end date.

5️⃣ Start fresh with Acura Home Care - We’ll support your smooth transition with the care and support you rely on.

📅 You have up to 56 days (plus 28 more if needed) to sign on with your new provider.

We’ll make it simple, supportive, and stress-free.

World Elder Abuse Awareness Day:

Today we stand united in recognising and raising awareness of elder abuse, an issue that’s often hidden, yet heartbreakingly close to home. Around 1 in 6 older Australians experience some form of abuse, but most suffer in silence.

It’s Men’s Health Week, and it matters more than ever.

At Acura Home Care, our focus is on providing compassionate, personalised support every day - and that includes recognising the importance of health for everyone, especially men.

The truth is, men often find it difficult to talk about their health. They delay check-ups, avoid difficult conversations, and carry on without asking for help.

But the statistics tell a different story:
Men die younger
75% of all suicides are men
They are less likely to visit a doctor

And when it comes to mental health, too many suffer in silence

This year’s Men’s Health Week theme is “Healthy Habits.” It’s not about big changes or fitness challenges. It’s about small, consistent actions that can make a real difference.

👉 Reaching out to a mate and having a real conversation
