At Sydney Community College, we're offering something truly special β€” a one-on-one DIY Balsa Wood Surfboard Course led by expert craftsman Mark Riley, who has been hand-building balsa surfboards since 1996. This is your chance to step away from the screen, get a little dusty, and create something extraordinary.

Across two full-day sessions at Riley Balsa Wood Surfboards in Miranda, you'll design, shape, and build your very own eco-friendly balsa wood surfboard from scratch β€” guided every step of the way by one of Australia's most experienced surfboard craftsmen. No experience needed. Just a love of making things and maybe a dream of catching a wave.
