Join us next month for 'Make Her: Random Weaving – Sculptural Forms Inspired by Country' with artist Annette Houston! 🌿

In this hands-on session, Aunty Annette will guide you through the principles of random weaving, an intuitive and meditative technique allows participants to create beautiful, organic sculptural forms using natural fibres and materials.

You'll leave with your own unique sculptural piece and a deeper appreciation of the stories and traditions woven into this practice.

The workshop is inspired by the exhibition Ngarandi Nguradha, meaning “deep listening to Country” in Dharawal language and honours the 10-year anniversary of Yirran Miigaydhu (“many women weaving”), a program that brings Aboriginal women together to share knowledge, stories, and culture through weaving.

All materials provided. Book now: https://www.campbelltownartscentre.com.au/Whats-On/Workshops/Adults-workshops/Make-Her-Random-Weaving-%E2%80%93-Sculptural-Forms-Inspired-by-Country-with-Aunty-Annette

🥪 Tracy’s Story (Names changed)
“I can now make sandwiches for my children for school.”

For many families, something as simple as packing a lunchbox can feel impossible.

Tracy shared that before receiving support, she often worried about how she would send her children to school with food. Today, she is able to prepare sandwiches and snacks, knowing her children won’t go hungry during the day.

It may seem small to some but to a mother, it means everything.

Confidence is returning.
Stability is growing.
Hope is rising in that home.

At Yibirmarra Foundation, we don’t work alone.

We come alongside other community organisations so they can fulfil their programs more effectively
We support local groups, communities Church’s and frontline services who are already doing incredible work helping them extend their reach and strengthen their impact.

We believe:
Food restores dignity
Practical help reduces crisis
Partnership multiplies impact

Hope changes futures
Hope is one of the most important elements we leave behind.

NSWALC is deeply shocked and saddened by the events that have taken place in Lake Cargelligo overnight.

We extend our deepest sympathies to the local community, particularly the Murrin Bridge Local Aboriginal Land Council (LALC), during this incredibly difficult time.

This is a devastating loss for the Murrin Bridge LALC and wider NSW Aboriginal Land Rights Network. The three individuals were pillars of the local Community, and their loss will be felt by their families, friends and the wider Network.

At this time, Murrin Bridge LALC is focused on supporting the families and community members impacted by this tragedy. As such, NSWALC will be fielding all general enquiries on their behalf. Please contact [email protected].

We ask that anyone with information about the incident contact Central West Police or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000, or submit a report online at:
https://nswpf.au.evidence.com/axon/community-request/public/lakecargelligoincident22012026

Any media enquiries should be directed to Central West Police.

Lake Cargelligo and Murrin Bridge LALC remain in our thoughts at this difficult time.
