πŸ“… June 30 is coming. Here is the best thing you can do before it arrives.

When you give to Nepean Therapy Dogs, a therapy dog gets to do what they do best. 🐾

They get to walk into a ward where someone is fighting the hardest battle of their life and make that person feel, even just for a moment, that the world is a little warmer than it was five minutes ago. πŸ₯

They get to visit a school where a child is struggling, an aged care home where a resident is lonely, a workplace where a team is burnt out, and do what no amount of meetings, medication, or management can quite replicate. πŸΆπŸ’›

They get to be exactly what they were born to be.

But here is what makes right now the perfect time to give. ⏰

Donations to Nepean Therapy Dogs made before June 30 may be tax-deductible. Which means that this year, as you think about your end-of-financial-year giving, you have the rare and wonderful opportunity to do something that is good for someone else, good for your community and good for your tax return.

A wagging tail and a lower tax bill. We think that is a pretty good deal. πŸ˜„πŸ’›

Please don't wait, donate before June 30 and make it count.

When you give β€” a therapy dog gets to do what they do best. And right now, the world needs that more than ever. πŸΎπŸ™

David needed a doggie hug this morning and Sunny happily obliged. It meant a lot to David, and we wish him a speedy recovery as he heads home after his stay in Nepean Hospital.

🐾 There are two of you in this. And both of you are ready.

You have a dog who loves people. You have noticed it your whole life, the way they lean in, the way they settle, the way strangers seem to find them and never quite want to let go. A dog who was made for more than your living room, as wonderful as your living room is. πŸΆπŸ’›

And then there is you. Quietly wondering if there is something more you could be doing. Something that uses the one thing you already have. a good dog and a willing heart, to make a genuine difference to the people around you.

There is. And it is called Nepean Therapy Dogs. 🌟

Together, you and your dog could be visiting hospitals where patients are counting the days. Aged care homes where residents light up at the sound of paws on the floor. Schools where a child just needs five minutes with a dog to remember how to breathe. Workplaces where a visit from your dog is the best thing that happens all week. πŸ₯🏑🏫

Two of you. One decision.

We think you have been thinking about this. We think your dog has been ready for a while. πŸ˜„

Take the first step today πŸ‘‰ www.therapydogs.com.au/volunteer

Tag your dog in this post. They deserve to know they are being considered for the role. πŸΎπŸ˜„πŸ’›

Sally and Mitchell were two of many staff, as well as lots of patients and carers, who enjoyed the visits of our dogs in the ICU at Nepean Hospital today. It is so rewarding to see faces light up, and the difference the dogs make to everyone, with their intuitive care and love.

🐾🧢 Famous Dogs Series: Meet Gromit!

This week's famous dog is one of the most beloved animated characters of all time: Gromit, the silent, brilliant, and endlessly loyal companion of Wallace from the iconic Wallace & Gromit series! πŸ§€βœ¨

Gromit is no ordinary dog. A graduate of "Dogwarts University" with a double first in Engineering for Dogs, he enjoys knitting, chess, classical literature, and a good cup of tea. His bookshelves are stacked with titles like Crime and Punishment by Fido Dogstoyevsky and The Republic by Pluto, and his music taste runs from "The Beagles" to "Red Hot Chili Puppies"! πŸŽΆπŸ“š

But what truly makes Gromit special is that he never speaks a single word, and yet Empire magazine named him the greatest animated character of all time, saying there has "never been a more expressive character to grace our screens." With just a raise of his eyebrow or a tilt of his head, Gromit communicates everything. 🎭

Sound familiar? Our therapy dogs don't need words either; a gentle lean, a soft gaze, or a quiet presence beside someone in need says everything that matters. πŸ’›

Above all, Gromit is devoted, patiently loyal to Wallace through every chaotic, cheese-fuelled adventure life throws at them. That bond between a person and their dog? Utterly timeless. πŸ•

NASA even named a Mars explorer robot after him in 2005. Now that's one very good boy! πŸš€πŸΎ
