With profound sadness, the Sherpa Association of NSW (SANSW) extends our heartfelt condolences to our Vice President, Ashish Sherpa, and his entire family on the passing of his beloved mother, Late Kamala Sherpa.

May her soul find eternal peace and liberation. May the blessings of the Buddha guide her on her journey. Om Mane Padme Hum🙏🕊️

Our deepest sympathies and prayers are with Ashish Sherpa and the family during this difficult time.

Tashidelek All – Let’s Proudly Represent Our Heritage!

We are excited to invite all Sherpa community members to proudly represent our rich culture and traditions at the upcoming 2026 World Indigenous Day celebrations in mid-August.

This is a wonderful opportunity to showcase the beauty of Sherpa culture through our traditional dances, attire, music, and unity. We warmly encourage everyone—young and old—to take part and celebrate our identity together on this special occasion.

Our weekly dance training sessions are already underway every weekend at Canterbury Hall, and we welcome anyone who would like to join. Whether you have danced before or are learning for the first time, your participation will help make this event truly memorable.

If you are interested in participating or would like more information, please get in touch with:

* Nima Wangdi Sherpa- 0449 877 916
* Lakpa Sonam Sherpa-0404 206 139

Let’s come together as one community, celebrate our heritage with pride, and share the spirit of the Sherpa people with the wider Nepalese community.

We look forward to seeing you at training and representing our community with pride! 🙏

On this historic day, the Sherpa spirit rises higher than ever.🙌👏👏

Heartfelt congratulations to Kami Rita Sherpa for his legendary 32nd summit of Mount Everest and to Lhakpa Sherpa for her inspiring 11th summit, creating history among women climbers.

Your courage, resilience, and humility continue to inspire the world and make every Sherpa proud.
Legends of the Himalayas
your legacy will live forever.

May future generations look at your journeys and learn that greatness is achieved not by fear, but by courage; not by comfort, but by perseverance.

From every Sherpa heart around the world — thank you for inspiring humanity and making our community proud beyond words.

Tashi Delek to our Himalayan legends. 🙏
