Meet Richard Song, Founder of Goliath Capital Consulting and our speaker for FMAA's Foundation of Financial Modelling Event.

With over a decade of experience across investment banking, private equity, and corporate development, Richard has worked at top firms including J.P. Morgan, Citi, HRL Morrison & Co, and ESR before starting his own corporate advisory business.

At Goliath Capital Consulting, he advises clients on corporate finance, capital raisings, strategy, and business data systems.

Having built his career through roles spanning real estate investment banking, global infrastructure, and corporate strategy, Richard brings a wealth of practical insights into how financial models are used by professionals at the highest level. He will guide students through the core techniques of modelling like an investment banker and share lessons from his journey in finance.

The Foundations of Financial Modelling Event will include:
- Fundamentals of Modelling with Interactive Modelling Insights
- Networking with ex-Investment Banking and Private Equity professionals

7 days until applications close! Pemba Capital Partners are offering a scholarship valued at $10,000.

To be eligible you must meet all the following criteria:
- Australian or New Zealand citizen, or holder of an Australian permanent resident visa or permanent humanitarian visa; and
- female student; and
- be enrolled in your penultimate or final year of study in an undergraduate degree in the Business School (including combined degrees with other disciplines); and
- have achieved a minimum WAM of 75; and
- for the duration of the Scholarship: full-time enrolment in Business School degree (including combined degrees with other disciplines); and
- be available to attend an interview in person.

Background
Established in 2021, this scholarship is sponsored by Pemba Capital Partners, a leading investment firm who specialise in partnering with owners and managers of small and mid-sized businesses to help them accelerate growth. It aims to assist women interested in a career in finance through direct financial support and a paid internship with Pemba Capital Partners.

The Financial Management Association of Australia is Australia’s largest student-run finance society, with 6,500+ members and 80+ sponsor firms across financial services, asset management, management consulting, professional services, and corporate partners. To date, our branches have operated across six of Australia’s top universities.

Adelaide University, a Go8 institution with more than 60,000 students, represents a significant opportunity to extend that network.
