A BEAUTIFUL THING
Everything about our launch dinner was intentional . From the international menu that was created by the people indigenous to that culture, the message was about how production and delivery is best made by the people who are from that community.
The opening by and the Ah Chong sisters was an honouring of our founder’s grandparents who built bridges between the church and the community.
Inviting along was indicative of the need for systems change and how Members of Parliament have the power to influence that change.
bringing a powerful song as an indigenous young man sent the message that we are all human and we all need to take responsibility to restore what has been lost over generations.
And our beautiful panel were representing the categories that we will work with through our App. From homelessness to domestic violence support, to criminal justice reform to water poverty in developing countries to youth su***de prevention and mental health. A big thank you to:
turano from for bravely stepping out in your season of grief and for boldly sharing your story with us. Your story has resonated with many and exemplifies beauty for ashes.
from for entrusting me with this kaupapa and for being the voice not just for the people you serve but for the everyday community leaders who are fighting against the big fish when it comes to funding and delivery.
for sharing your experience of navigating the criminal justice system and then helping others to do the same even in the midst of judgment and resistance.
selim who at 19 years old founded to end water poverty around Lake Victoria. A noble and achievable task when you work with local community leaders on the frontline.
And from .au for sharing how you went from being denied access to one school because you couldn’t speak to then working there for over 20 years and identifying the gaps.
And to everyone who engaged, embraced and endorsed the vision behind on Friday night, thank you so much 💚🩵💛💙.
