We are truly honoured and grateful to receive the Lions Clubs International District Governor's Appreciation Certificate on behalf of the Lions Club of Sydney Chinese.

A heartfelt thank you to our President Duncan for his outstanding leadership, and to our Immediate Past President Anthony OAM for laying such a strong foundation. Together with the commitment and support of all our members, we continue to live the Lions motto: "We Serve."

This recognition belongs to every member of our club. Your passion, dedication, and willingness to serve have made this achievement possible. Let this honour inspire us to continue working hand in hand, welcoming new members, supporting one another, and making an even greater impact in our community.

*Worldviews and ways of life in Australia*

ANU researchers are exploring how perceptions and ways of thinking (i.e. worldviews) relate to experiences and ways of living (i.e. participation and inclusion) in Australia.
They are seeking respondents for their online anonymous 15-20 min survey from any and all adult Australian citizens and permanent residents living in Australia.
Please make sure you are represented in this meaningful research by completing this fascinating survey and also forwarding it to any others who may be interested. There are $100 vouchers to be won if you complete it!

On 7 May 2026, Sydney Chinese Lions joint forces with NSW Parliamentary Lions to feature a fundraising BBQ at the Rooftop Garden of the NSW Parliament House. Their host was Tim James MP, Member for Willoughby. Some 15 members of Sydney Chinese Lions helped out in the function. Together with members of the NSW Parliamentary Lions their host, they contributed their time and efforts and made the function a tremendous success.

Together they raised the Lions banner up and high, demonstrating the Lions' spirit and motto - "We Serve". Everyone had a great time.

We are thankful to Dr Joe McGirr MP, Member for Wagga Wagga, President of the NSW Parliamentary Lions and his Lions members for their support. We also owe much to Tim James MP and his team in Sue, Dominic and Michael. We are indebted to their professionalism and patience in helping us to successfully performing our task.

We look forward to future opportunities of a similar kind to further uplift the image and profile of Lions and serve the community.

Thanks NSW Parliamentary Lions Club for inviting Sydney Chinese Lions to host a BBQ sizzle at the rooftop of Parliament House. Thanks for all the Members of the Parliament and parliament staff for making this fundraising BBQ a great success.

At the Sydney Chinese Lions ChangeOver 2025, 26 Melvin Jones Fellowship Awards (MJFs) and 13 Progressive Melvin Jones Fellowship Awards (PMJFs) were presented to 39 dedicated members and supporters. It's a record high number of MJFs and PMJFs being awarded by the club. All are worthy recipients as they have contributed greatly to the club and its Serving projects.

Sydney Chinese Lions is honoured to be recognised by Lions International for our ongoing service and contributions to the community. We are especially proud to share that our work has been featured in the Lions International magazine, a wonderful acknowledgement on the global stage.

Sydney Chinese Lions $250,000- Plus Birthday Bash

Over the past decades, the Sydney Chinese Lions Club has matured into a pillar of service and camaraderie.

In March this year, the club celebrated its 30th Charter Anniversary in grand style with around 450 members and guests gathering at the International Convention Center Sydney’s Grand Ballroom for a spectacular birthday gala.
The night raised $252,538 for LCIF, beyond a $50,000 cheque presented to LCIF at the event. Later during the night, the club added an additional $30,000 bringing its total donation to $80.000.
Since 2012, Sydney Chinese Lions’ cumulative contributions to LCIF have exceeded $230,000.
The gala was graced by guest of honour PIP Barry Palmer AO, alongside DG Genevieve Jeny, presidents and members from more than 25 Lions Clubs.
Guests were treated to an evening of generosity and festivity, each receiving an international Presidential LCIF pin and an elegant commemorative gift of a sleek metallic red portable thermal flask.
The Grand Ballroom’s warm ambulance was enhanced by the soothing melodies of a 60-piece Youth Wind Orchestra and a three-course banquet, while attractions included a vibrant Lions and dragon parade, plus dazzling performances by the Janice Breen Show Group.
The impact of the club’s gala did not go unnoticed, with attendee Matt Cross MP later formally recognising the event in the NSW Parliamentary Hansard. PID Tim Irvine, LCIF’s Area Leader for Constitutional Area VII, praised Sydney Chinese Lions as “the highest contributor to the Foundation”, noting that their generosity will “support countless families in need”.

Last evening, ten of our esteemed members had the honor of representing Lions Club of Sydney Chinese at the International Gala Dinner hosted by Lions of Sydney Inner West. 🌍🍷
It was a wonderful evening filled with friendship, celebration, and the true spirit of Lions. 🦁💛
We extend our heartfelt gratitude to our members for their exemplary participation and for representing our club with such distinction. 👏👏
