Crossed Up 4x4 Club

Crossed Up 4x4 Club Crossed Up 4x4 Club, is a 4wd Club based NW Sydney. We meet monthly and run monthly day trips and regular touring trips also.

Meetings are held on the 2nd Tuesday of each month at The Baulkham Hills sports Club. 11 Renown rd, Baulkham Hills 7:30pm. Crossed Up 4x4 Club was launched in August 2012. History of Crossed Up 4x4:
Not having the means back then to get it off the ground, we started out as a sub branch of the Christian Autosports Club of Australia (C**A). The trips were mainly "day trips" within a few hours drive

from sydney, and only took place 5/6 times a year. These trips grew from 3/4 4wd's to 8/9 on each trip, and sometimes as many as 15 trucks. As a result we saw the need to move out of the C**A, and realise the dream of Crossed Up 4x4 Club. So now, with around 40 membership's (and still growing), at least 2 trips a month, including plenty of camping for those that are keen, we are a very social club and families are embraced we are a formidable 4x4 Club among the others. We are a Christian based club with connections in many different church's, however Crossed up 4x4 Club is by no means an exclusively Christian Club. We aim to keep our club as family friendly as possible. We love our "Wheeling" but are keen to make sure our kids enjoy it as much as we do. Getting the kids out into a tent, sitting around a roaring "Bush Tele" (camp fire) and showing them that there's so much more to life than what the city holds is very close to our hearts! Our monthly club meeting's we eat dinner at the bistro if you want to join us
We meet at 7:30pm on the second Tuesday of each month at:
The Baulkham Hills Sports Club
11 Renown Rd,
Baulkham Hills
NSW 2153

If your interested in camping, touring or just wanting to socialise and experience more places come along on one of our trips. If you require more information please send an email to:

February’s run was all about mud, ruts and rocks as we headed out to Rydal and Lidsdale State Forest for a solid day of 4WDing.

We explored a few different tracks, tackled a pretty interesting descent, and spent some time having a play on “Richards Hill” before making our way back out to State Mine Gully Road for a well-earned lunch at the The Winding House.

After lunch the convoy played along the Powerline Trail, then out to the Lost City North to take in the views before airing up and heading for home.

Big thanks to Steve for leading the trip — another great day out wheeling with a good crew!

Finaly home after a big weekend, while driving back from Coffs Harbour I have time to reflect on just how big yesterday’s meeting was. It was a real privilege to meet so many amazing people, I just wish it did not have to be over such a terrible set of circumstances. I am having real problems coming to grip to just how bad Chris Minns and his Party have dealt with the whole Great Koala Park, first they made an announcement that would put over a thousand workers out of work on Father’s Day with the added bonus that their property was now worth nothing because the small town you live in and support is now going to history.
They have made ridiculous claims that eco-tourism will boom, there is nothing that will make that happen, but it will destroy most of the tourism that already exists in the area, so a loss for the area.
We are hearing the government and the NPWS quoting far fetch claims that Koalas will be extinct in the wild in less than 25 years (No science to back this), harvesting timber increases the risk of fire (science tells us the opposite), Old growth forests are preferred by Koalas (science tells us they prefer new growth) and old growth forests absorb more carbon (you guessed it, the opposite).
So what are we expecting for access, well there will be lots of public consultation and we will all get a say, and they will collate all of it and then basically ignore it like every other time. The final decisions will be made by small minority groups with the same ideology as NPWS.
For me personally I have grown old believing NPWS was an honourable organisation that was respected by the majority of the population and now I have come to the realisation that they are just not trusted by anyone and have lost all credibility and this just breaks me.

In September, our monthly MRnR Crossed Up 4x4 trip revisited Newnes Plateau in Lithgow. We began with the warm-up track and then ventured deeper into Newnes Plateau. It was wonderful to welcome many new participants on this trip, with some joining us directly from the 4WD show, eager to challenge themselves and their vehicles. It was, as always, a fantastic day.
