Every sheet available at LOKTAA is handcrafted in Nepal. But right now, the communities behind this craft need our help.

Recent flash floods have hit the region hard, especially key paper-making districts like Rasuwa, Nuwakot, and Dhading. The damage to local infrastructure has been devastating, and heartbreakingly, this includes the rural schools that are at the very heart of our social mission.

In times of crisis, getting support to the ground quickly matters most. Over the weekend, we calculated our forecasted profits and redirected our planned donation from Room to Read directly to Nepal’s Prime Minister’s Relief Fund.

So heartbroken. I have no words.

Mother Nature is loving but when the fury unfolds, it's unforgiving. And for beautiful Nepal, she's been very unfair.

So far we haven't been able to get in touch with our partners in Nepal but since they are primarily based in Kathmandu, we are hopeful they are all ok.

Some traditions are born right in the middle of the beautiful chaos. 🤎

Between the loud mornings and the messy living room, I hit pause last night and wrote down what a wonderful dad he is, and that among all the smart devices in the house, he is my absolute favourite smart device (IYKYK) in the house! That’s what the 'With Love' journal. It’s not just a notebook; it’s a lifelong guestbook for our family.

Kids have already added their messy scribbles, and over the years this journal will house many memories from friends and family. Imagine him flipping through a unified collection of all our voices a decade or two from now.

Start this new tradition from Father's Day 🥰

Our 'Dear Mum' Journal launched for Mother's Day saw a lot of love, so we have released an adapted 'With Love' Journal! Designed to be a lifelong personal guestbook, this journal is meant to be passed around to family and friends on special occasions. Let everyone write their own heartfelt messages, memories, and well wishes over the years, creating a unified collection of voices for one cherished person. And imagine flipping the pages of this book a decade or two later!

With Father's Day around the corner, this is a perfect time to start this family tradition. It will be a very thoughtful gift indeed.

There is something profound about unplugging and slowing down to write on paper made entirely by hand. It forces you to be intentional. Whether it is a letter for your children to open in twenty years, or simply a space to document your own history.

Mondays are loud. By 5:00pm, the mental noise and workweek stress are usually at their peak.

I recently watched a video about how Chris Martin (yea, from Cold Play) manages this kind of overwhelm. His method? He uses a journal as a "pressure valve." He writes down everything cluttering his mind - no editing, no overthinking - just to get it out of his head and onto paper. Now that's one thing, he and I have in common 🙂 It's also refreshing to see a man - a guy - talk so opening about his mental state and how he is managing it. We don't see many men do that.

It's also a reminder that a journal isn't just for writing pretty thoughts. Sometimes, it’s just a safe place to unload the chaos.

The stars were never going to align... so we forced it.

And then afterwards, I used our handmade paper journal and oil pastels to create something to remember the trip outside of my camera roll! My digital photos are already buried inside others, but this page will be a great reminder AND the art on this archival grade paper will live on beyond me for sure!

I drew inspiration from something I saw on Pinterest for this piece and for the life of me, I cannot find it again!Let me know if you spot it.

We have a debate to settle.

Our paper is handmade in Nepal using centuries-old techniques. And our journal is completely handcrafted too. We have always built our brand on the idea that there is beauty in imperfection.

But late last year, we introduced the Shabda Collection - swapping our traditional screen-printing for modern gold foil. And it has sparked a debate in our studio.

We love our old-school roots, but the foil adds an undeniable edge!
