Join Sydney Save Animals In Laboratories for a powerful anniversary action marking 10 years of amplifying the voices of animals trapped in laboratories and breeding facilities whom are rented out for medical research and experimentation.

The purpose has always been to expose the reality behind animal experimentation and the growing xenotransplantation industry, where animals are bred and modified for their organs and tissues.

It’s time to preference animal free, human-relevant science such as Organoids, Organs-on-chips, Human tissue culture, In Silico testing, Artificial Intelligence and In Vitro testing which don’t rely on animal suffering and death.

Animals are not spare parts. Funding agencies must be urged to preference financial sponsorships for humane, animal free alternatives to advance human health.

This is a peaceful event which intends to highlight the fact that Animal Free Science is now here and it is time to make the switch to humane alternatives that cease to rely on the use of non-human species.

Our First Speaker at our Rally for Animal Free Science on the 5th September at 11.30am, is the hardworking and highly successful Emma Hurst.

Emma is the first female Animal Justice Party MP elected to NSW Parliament. A former psychologist, Emma has worked tirelessly for the rights of animals for many years with a background in campaigning, political lobbying, and media work.

Since she was elected in 2019, Emma has used her time in Parliament to fight for important reforms for animals. Over the last six years, she has secured over $100 million in Government funding for animal protection, mandated the ‘right to release’ for animals used in experimentation, banned forced swim and forced smoking experiments, outlawed convenience killing in pounds, increased penalties for animal cruelty and ran numerous Parliamentary inquiries into key animal issues.

Ric Allport has been an animal rights activist, animal rescuer and vegan for over two decades. He is Program Coordinator for Kangaroos Alive, a Director of Coast-to-Coast Animal Friends, Animal Justice Foundation Board Member, founder of the animal rescue team Rescue Ninjas and former Convenor of Animal Justice Party Queensland.

Through his many years of activism and rescue, Ric reached a point of severe burnout and PTSD in 2020 culminating in over 3 years out of activism and he is now working his way back. And… look at him go!
