🏕️ Just over 2 weeks ago, 7 youth and 1 of our leaders from Park Youth attended Leaders in Training (LiT) Youthworks Leaders in Training Summer at Pork Hacking!
We were among 500 campers and leaders gathered together in the Royal National Park! 🌲
We looked at the character of David in the books 1 and 2 Samuel and how Jesus is God’s ‘unexpected hero’ promised through the line of David 👑
The big goal of LiT is to train and equip the next generation to be leaders in whatever context God may place them in.
LiT is designed for Year 9-12 students to complete the camp and training over three years.
Stage 1 - Learn skills
Stage 2 - Refine skills
Stage 3 - Apply skills
One of the ways that this is done is through a tool called the ‘Teaching Target’ 🎯
In small groups, leaders teach and guide the youth through the tool going through each element: Context, Structure, Big Idea, Supporting Ideas, Application Then and Application Now.
The aim is that as the youth progress through Stages 1-3, they become more comfortable and independent with the Teaching Target, enabling them to write a Bible Study or Bible Talk in Stage 3.
We are so thankful for the ministry of Youthworks in running LiT so faithfully each year over Spring and Summer.

And if you are in years 9-12, we encourage you to consider whether you’d like to join us at LiT in 2025!
