C & E were teaching the story of Samson and Delilah to children in Sunday school.

One student concluded that the main application was: “Don’t tell people your secrets, and take revenge on your enemies.”

So C & E started to look for chances to help them to see how stories in the Old Testament point forward to Jesus.

During their study of David and Goliath, the students initially said things like, “This story teaches us to fight the battles in our own lives.”

But by the final week, they were saying,

“I am weak like David, but Jesus is strong. He fights for me against sin and the devil.”

“Hearing things like that makes our hearts sing,” said C & E.

“It’s such a joy to point these young people to Jesus and help them see the beauty of His work in the Bible. We’re so thankful to God for this opportunity!”

🥳 Praise God for the opportunities that C & E have to teach God’s word and point people to Jesus.

🙏 Ask God that churches in South East Asia would clearly proclaim the gospel, to all generations.

One day, W and S came out of their apartment to find their neighbour in the middle of a dispute with a truck owner.

He had hit her car.

They tried to help.

A few minutes later an Arab man suddenly stepped in and patiently resolved the problem, before turning to S and exclaiming, “It’s so nice to see you!”

When S first arrived in the region almost 15 years ago, she lived in another city in the bottom floor of an apartment owned by an Arab family.

“This wonderful family took my roommate and me in as daughters,” said S.

“They were cultural Christians, who helped us through our many cultural blunders, overfed us, and patiently helped us with our bumbling Arabic.”

Their son, G, was the same Arab man W & S met on the street after the car crash.

“It was so lovely to see him after more than a decade,” said S.

“My roommate and I had...prayed with them and for them, as had many of our supporters.”

“While it was great to see him, the greatest joy was hearing that G was just beginning a six-month long discipleship program in our city,” she continued.

"He had become a committed believer and now was being trained to reach out to [people] in our city. Something I would never have believed all those years ago!”

🥳 Praise God for answering the prayers of S, her roommate and their supporters, in the life of G.

🙏 Ask God that he would raise up many men, like G, to be discipled and trained to reach out to people in cities across the Middle East.

Sophal lived with his uncle, who rented out a property to American missionaries.

Sophal noticed how this man loved his wife and kids.

He and his uncle joined in with their family Bible reading, and Sophal started attending church.

One day, he picked up a guitar and started playing Christian songs. Suddenly he saw a bright light in the sky...

God called out to him and said, “What are you doing Sophal?”

Sophal was awestruck and said, “I have nothing, but whatever I have, I give to you for your glory.”

Sophal now works 3 days a week at HOPE International School with CMS missionary Jeremy Horrocks.

On the other days he ministers amongst women in a prison.

“These women are the most receptive audience,” said Sophal, who tries to speak about hope in Jesus, encouragement in following him, and finding their identity
in him.

He goes there once a week with some other team members.

They lead a singing time and he gives a talk.

One woman recently told him after the worship time that she would soon be released and wanted a church contact so that she could continue worshipping.

Sophal says the prison is very open to having Christians come in to speak to the women.

🥳 Praise God for his work in and through this missionary family, and for bringing Sophal to faith.

🙏 Ask God to give opportunities to Sophal and his team to share the hope of Jesus with the women in this prison.

💬 “I used to worry about the future. Would God accept me with all the sin I have done? But now I know that my future is made certain by what Christ has already done in the past.”

Adam Friend serves with his family in Madagascar.

The quote above is from one of his students at St Patrick’s Theological College.

Adam was teaching from the book of Revelation, and the former prophets.

He described this as “a great chance to reflect on the hope we have in Jesus.”

Another student reflected, “God’s words will come true. Even though [his people] sinned...his grace still remained. His promises will come true.”

One other student said, “Before I used to get so distracted by all the details, I missed the big ideas, the encouraging and helpful truths that are plain. This has changed how I read the Bible.” Another said, “Before, I was so confused by Revelation, I never wanted to have to preach it, but now I am excited to preach it!”

🌳 Pray that God might keep the church in Madagascar firm and flourishing.

🙏 Ask God to work through Bible colleges across the country to raise up leaders and teachers for the Malagasi church.

In 2024, C and L asked people in Australia to pray for T and D, that God would work in their hearts and draw them to himself, even in the midst of very difficult circumstances.

In 2025, God answered that prayer!

"With nothing else left to cling to, they have found peace in the Lord Jesus, and an eternal inheritance that will never perish, spoil or fade," said C and L.

God provided a Bible in their heart language (another thing for which C and L had asked to pray).

Their friends B and B come from the same passport country as T and D, and have been meeting to read the Bible together.

D has also been coming to a course exploring Jesus in Mark, and B and B have been translating in real-time!

🥳 Praise God for providing a Bible in T and D's heart language, and people with whom they can read it!
🙏 Ask God that he would work in the hearts of many in the Middle East, drawing them to himself.
