Our Community Kitchen Inc had another big day at Bigge Park, Liverpool this afternoon helping the people that need it most.
With great support from our OCK volunteer team, we were able to give everyone in attendance at least 2 hot meals as well as baked goods, fresh fruit and a drink.
More importantly, and needed most a hot cup of coffee and someone to talk to, we are there to listen.
We want to say a huge thankyou to the man who came up to us during the service and donated $100, this will go towards hygiene essentials at our next service.
As we get closer to the winter months, many of us are thankful for the basic necessities of life, including shelter, warmth, and clothing, however, not everyone is as fortunate. Homelessness is regrettably increasing amidst the current economic downturn. It is essential to acknowledge that homelessness encompasses a broader range of precarious housing situations, including overcrowding, supported accommodation, boarding houses, and temporary residence with other households. We also have alot of rough sleeper's in the area that call stairwells or any covered area their home.
Although the team at Our Community Kitchen Inc cannot single-handedly resolve this issue, we are committed to providing assistance to the best of our ability.
Every fortnight, we offer individuals in need a hot meal, baked goods, fresh fruit, and beverages. Additionally, when we receive donations, we provide essential hygiene products and new warm clothing.
If you have always wanted to contribute, you are welcome to join us. Our self-funded team of volunteers dedicate their time and effort to our cause.
