🌏💛 INTERNATIONAL YOUTH DAY 2026 💛🌏
Today we celebrate young people, our voices, our ideas, our courage and our power to create change.
Young people aren’t just the leaders of tomorrow. We are leaders, advocates, creators, volunteers, workers, students, changemakers and community members today.
At THEIRS, we believe young people deserve to be heard, supported, included and taken seriously, especially when decisions are being made about our lives, our communities and our futures.
Youth voice isn’t a box to tick.
It isn’t asking young people for their opinion after the decisions have already been made.
It’s about genuine participation, shared decision making and creating spaces where young people have the opportunity to lead. 🫶
Today, we want to thank every young person who speaks up, asks questions, challenges the status quo, supports their mates, creates change and keeps showing up for their community.
Your voice matters.
Your ideas matter.
You matter. 🤍
Happy International Youth Day! 🌏💛

Missed International Friendship Day? We're still celebrating. 💛

Friendship isn't something to celebrate on just one day—it's something to appreciate every day.

To the friends who show up, cheer us on, make us laugh, and make life a little brighter... thank you. 💛

A few of the team had the chance to attend the awards ceremony last night, where we were presented with our certificate after receiving a grant through the program.

A massive thank you to Ken and the team for giving us this opportunity to grow. We really appreciate the support and can't wait to put it towards continuing to build what we do.

Congratulations as well to all of the other grant recipients. It's awesome to see so many great organisations being recognised and supported.

We're grateful to be part of it and excited for what's next. 🙌

Kicking things off with Maddy!

Meet Madelene Cochrane (she/her) ✨

Maddy is our problem solver, unofficial team cheerleader and someone who can always be counted on to jump in wherever she’s needed.

With her sharp thinking, adaptability and ability to find solutions, Maddy plays a huge role in bringing our events and projects to life. She is also a passionate mentor who helps young people feel heard, supported and confident in using their voices.

But what makes Maddy truly special is the energy she brings to our team. Her humour, kindness and encouragement help create the connection and positivity that makes THEIRS what it is.

We’re so lucky to have Maddy as part of our team! Make sure you hype her up!! 💛

Stay tuned as we introduce more of the amazing people behind THEIRS.

Winter can be beautiful, but for many people it can also feel heavy. 💙

Shorter days, colder weather, and changes to our routines can all take a toll on our mental wellbeing. If you're finding this season a little harder than usual, know that you're not alone.
Be kind to yourself, check in with the people around you, and remember that reaching out for support is a sign of strength, not weakness. Even small acts of connection can make a difference.

Let's look after ourselves and each other this winter. 💙

Anyone who works in the community sector knows and understands how important but also rewarding it is when there’s time to have meetings.
We have our AGM coming up and this is the current two vibes the team has 😂✨
