Our team have been joining the R U OK? convoy this year and even in places we couldn’t join our resources have been there!

It’s been great to have the team over. We look forward to doing this more often and hopefully each and every year going forward.

The team will be in Devonport tomorrow morning and catch us at the tulip festival on Saturday! Can’t wait to see you there ✨💛

🧠👟 MIND IN MOTION IS COMING!

Created alongside young people from the Tamar Valley through the ABC Heywire, Mind in Motion is a brand-new THEIRS youth-led program coming in early 2027.

We’re bringing together movement, sport, creativity, mental health education and community connection, with two programs running alongside each other so there’s something for everyone.

And yes, there’ll be FREE food and drinks, with guest speakers featuring at some events!

We’re now looking for young people to volunteer, as well as organisations and individuals who want to partner with us and help bring Mind in Motion to life.

What we have been up to this week is we have been in the Tamar!!

The ABC on Heywire Tamar Valley, Heywire an incredible storytelling and leadership program involving more than 10 schools across Launceston, George Town and West Tamar.

34 young people have stepped up to tell their story and to share their ideas on how to make the Tamar Valley an even better place for young people. Working with local legends from the Beacon Foundation, Stompin’, THEIRS, Abel’s Run, the Go Company and Kinda, the Heywire Tamar Valley winners have crafted 6 awesome ideas to change their region. Come be inspired. And make sure you book in as you don’t want to miss this!!

✨ Conference week is here!

Our conference kicks off tomorrow and we're excited to welcome everyone.

The “Old Bags” and co met at Burnie Community House yesterday to pack up the delegate bags. The bags look amazing and several designs have already been claimed so get in quick to get your favourite bag at the conference!

MEET MATEYA 🌟

Mateya is our second longest-standing member and has played a huge role in helping shape THEIRS into what it is today. From supporting events and securing guest speakers to MCing, advocacy and mentoring others, Mateya brings so much to our team.

She even joined Laura and Jaspah in Canberra in 2024 as part of the ABC Heywire Trailblazer program, pitching THEIRS and sharing their stories on the Parliament stage.

We’re so lucky to have Mateya as part of our THEIRS family! ✨

Last week was a big one for the THEIRS team as we joined our community for Out of the Shadows. 💙

Laura and Annie travelled to Circular Head, where Annie spoke to attendees and shared a message of hope. And did an absolutely amazing job!!

On Friday, the team headed to Burnie for the Out of the Shadows Walk. Laura, our Founder, spoke at the event and shared a message of hope, while the team had some great and amazing conversations with people throughout the day at our stall. We also did another footpath of hope which we will share with you later (Facebook won’t let us post both 😢)

We were also incredibly excited to launch our brand new THEIRS Toolkit at the Burnie event!

It was a wonderful week of coming together, sharing hope, connecting with our community and continuing to get THEIRS out there.

Thank you to everyone who stopped by our stall, came along to the walk, listened to Annie and Laura speak, and supported the THEIRS team throughout the week.

Today is a reminder that every person matters, every story matters and no one should have to face things alone.

At THEIRS, su***de prevention is at the heart of what we do. We believe prevention starts long before crisis. It starts with connection, feeling heard, knowing where to turn and having people around you who are willing to listen.

Sometimes it can be as simple as asking someone how they are and actually taking the time to hear the answer.
You don’t need to have the perfect words. You don’t need to fix everything. You can simply be there.

If you’re having a hard time, please reach out to someone you trust or connect with a support service. You deserve support too.

R U OK? Day is this Friday, and we’re getting excited for a big few days ahead.

The R U OK? Convoy arrives in Devonport tomorrow to kick things off, and we’re excited to announce that the team has invited us to join them along their journey!

As an entirely volunteer-run organisation, we won’t be able to make every stop along the way, but we’ll be joining them in person at select stops, which we’ll be announcing very soon. You’ll also see some of our THEIRS materials popping up along the journey.

If you’re heading along to catch the convoy, make sure you come and say hi! The team have some really cool merch and are always great to have a chat with.

R U OK? Day is a reminder that checking in, starting a conversation and taking the time to listen can make a real difference.
