Great session on community led sustainability at .syd. Jet learning is around engagement - not too down, community led. Make frameworks invisible. And food is a great connector.

Great examples around community gardens, repurposing fashion and community energy initiatives.

Carbon markets sound complicated.
But what if you could learn how they work in 5 minutes… by playing musical chairs?

I’m excited and looking forward to be joined by and Jon Yeo at SXSW Sydney for:

🪑🪑🪑Musical Chairs: The Game That Explains Carbon Markets.

Come play, laugh, and leave with a hands-on understanding of how offsets, carbon credits, emissions allowances and emissions trading works, drives renewables, and accelerates the transition to sustainability.

Changes we won’t even notice, but the planet will. 🌏

South Australia just banned those tiny “plastic fish” soy sauce containers. No one will miss them. But the planet gets a break from millions of bits of pointless plastic.

This is the bigger story:

We can remove whole categories of waste that trash the environment without touching our quality of life.

We’ve already done it with plastic bags and straws. What’s next?

Some easy wins:
• Stickers on every piece of fruit 🍎
• Individually wrapped spreads 🧈
• Takeaway cutlery you never asked for 🍴
• Single-serve condiment sachets 🌭
• Non-recyclable coffee cups ☕
• Shrink-wrap around things that don’t need it 📦
• …and yes, maybe even cutting down on overusing AI to format posts and throw in emojis 😱🫟⚖️👿🏴‍☠️

Each of these is a small shift we won’t notice but the environment will.

💡Over to you: what’s something you’d scrap tomorrow that wouldn’t change your life at all?

🚨 ? NASA is planning to shut down critical carbon-monitoring satellites.

The Orbiting Carbon Observatories (OCO-2 and OCO-3) and related instruments have provided the most precise data we have on CO₂ emissions and plant health.

📉 Their loss would severely weaken our ability to monitor global carbon flows — just when accountability and transparency are most needed.

🌍 Scientists are urging action. NASA is exploring international and private-sector partnerships to keep these vital missions alive.
🛰️ Ending these programs would be a major setback for climate science, carbon markets, and emissions policy.

Cheap carbon for sale. Highest quality guaranteed. No !

I never thought I’d ever be spruiking an opportunity like this, but it’s true. UK Emissions Allowances, currently trading in the institutional market at around GBP41 per tonne can be bought for a mere GBP28.57. That’s a massive 30% below the current market price.

But hurry now. This offer won’t last (I never thought I’d say that either!).

Bid GBP200 (or more) for 7 allowances (7 tonnes) in the silent auction hosted by The Sheriffs’ Ball (https://lnkd.in/gbwxgvSj). All proceeds go to The Lord Mayor’s Appeal.

Carbon donated by C2Zero’s Carbon Cancellation Service (https://lnkd.in/gzPGAfJ9).

Bid now at https://lnkd.in/gn3yHwct.

Good luck.

*Why 7 tonnes? 7 Tonnes is more than the average per capita carbon footprint in the UK (https://lnkd.in/gktq5Auq puts it at 4.72 tonnes in 2022).

Neutral is Not Enough — ASPIRE & C2Zero Partner for Lasting Impact

At ASPIRE, we’re thrilled to partner with C2Zero, combining our circular economy marketplace with their innovative approach to carbon cancellation. Together, we’re going beyond carbon neutrality—taking real steps to reduce global emissions by removing Emission Allowances from circulation, so big polluters can’t use them.

C2Zero empowers businesses and individuals to attach carbon-reducing micro-credits to everyday products and services, like your morning coffee or a T-shirt. Each C2Zero Token is fully traceable, ensuring emissions are removed from the global market for good.

This partnership aligns perfectly with ASPIRE’s mission to help businesses reuse and exchange materials that would otherwise go to waste. By working together, we’re not just reducing waste, but also contributing to a more sustainable future.

Ready to shape a sustainable future?

Join ASPIRE's Partnership Program and become a catalyst for change in the Circular Economy Platform!
