For Matheo, taking part in this campaign is about pride, visibility, and self-care. Cervical screening doesn’t take away from who you are — it’s about valuing your health and your life.

He’s encouraging others in the trans and gender-diverse community to prioritise their health too, because avoiding screening means taking risks we don’t have to.

Behind the scenes with Karen, one of the inspiring voices of the Own It national cervical screening campaign.

For Karen, cervical screening hasn’t always felt easy or comfortable — but learning about the self-collection option has changed that. Knowing she can do her test herself, in privacy and comfort, gives her confidence and control.

She’s encouraging younger mob to take their health seriously and ask their doctor about self-collection — because it’s your body, your choice, and your screening test.
