Welcome to Miela Respite Haven on the Sunshine Coast Qld. With a background in community services, chaplaincy, customer experience, support work and business consulting across the community, legal and Gov sectors, we are pleased to be launching a new service to our community!
Miela Respite Haven is a peaceful acreage sanctuary located on the Sunshine Coast Qld, providing STA and respite care for NDIS participants of all ages seeking respite.
Respite is given in our own home with friendly and caring husband and wife team Jody and Tim, qualified support worker and chaplain (supported by our team of qualified staff), in a peaceful, rainforest atmosphere where we provide a flexible, person-centred support service tailored to the individual needs of those we work with. Our rainforest acreage is graced by a myriad of natural wildlife. Our home is not currently wheelchair accessible (but we are working towards this).
The front of the property is home to a meandering creek, an earthy fire pit zone, native wood ducks, and other birds including a family of kookaburras and the occasional roo. Our guests have numerous peace-filled inviting zones to enjoy on the property, from choosing a book from the library, relaxing with a snack in the atrium, bird watching on the deck, catching a movie in our theatre zone, enjoying a game or ti**le the ivories on the piano in the games room.
We love to source quality food from fresh, locally grown produce, providing delicious and homey cooked meals for those who stay. Chef catered options available.
Art, nature, bird watching, music, bush walking, reading, cooking, photography and visits to the beach are all areas of interest we love to share.
We have two bedrooms available so if participants wish to bring their own support worker they are welcome. Otherwise we are happy to provide 1:1 support.
