Sponsorship is so much more than money! It is the chance to be ‘normal’, to have dignity in life, to gain opportunities, education, and in Quynh's situation.. a future she never thought possible! Poverty, no father, desperately ill mother, isolation, are just a few of her areas she had to overcome. But with HRA’s support via AusCHAM and some local people, she achieved beyond her life circumstances. Nursed her Mum, gained a degree in engineering.. (could not use this due to the need to stay home and work while caring but succeeded providing for both she and her mum). Tragically, her Mum died way too young.. but through this she met Huy, and I was asked to be there as her Dad to give her away at her wedding! What a blessing! So much emotion! Life is not always kind, but with love, support and encouragement, the precious experiences can be enjoyed and treasured! Quynh was so thankful for all the years of support.. the chance to have a life and a future. As I walked beside her it was so special.. a moment made possible as much by others who care.. and to who I say thank you!
Over 35 years there are so many stories.. but to be part of each one is a unique and amazing privilege. God has blessed me in so many ways to be part of such incredible experiences.
