The public is tired.

Tired of the excuses. Tired of the delays. Tired of governments claiming that greyhound welfare matters while dogs continue to be injured and killed for gambling profits.

How many more broken legs, deaths and failed promises will it take?

Government apathy is a choice. Continuing to protect this cruel code of racing is a choice.

The public has had enough. It is time to stop making excuses and commit to ending greyhound racing.

The world lost an incredible performer and humanitarian today.

Dolly Parton is known for her kindness as much as her music. Her philanthropy touched everything from childhood literacy to disaster relief to pediatric cancer research.

She was also a lifelong animal lover.

In 2022, she launched Doggy Parton, a pet clothing line, with proceeds supporting animal rescue Willa B Farms.

She helped preserve the bald eagle through the American Eagle Foundation's sanctuary at Dollywood.

And she gave her song "Will He Be Waiting for Me?" to PETA for a public awareness campaign reminding people that dogs need company, not just a backyard.

Rest in peace, Dolly. You’ll be missed.

On Wednesday night at Cannington, Fletcher Keeping, trained by Victoria Cook, broke his right rear leg.

He is the 20th greyhound to suffer this same fracture on a Western Australian racetrack this year. Four of those dogs are now dead.

This is not greyhound welfare.
This is not what loving dogs looks like.

Twenty broken legs. Four dogs dead. It’s time to end the carnage—and end greyhound racing.

ROCKSMITH suffered a fractured right shoulder while in trainer Michael Rylands’ care on 3 April 2026.

Despite the injury, he was not taken to a veterinarian until the following day. By then, ROCKSMITH needed to be euthanised.

Racing WA found Rylands guilty of failing to provide necessary veterinary attention and disqualified him for 12 months.

A dog with a fractured long bone should never be left overnight without veterinary care. ROCKSMITH deserved urgent treatment—not a night of insufficient care and a death sentence the next day.

Security Spot, trained by Enzo Crudeli, broke his right leg while competing in Race 4 at Mandurah on 7 August. He now faces months of rehabilitation.

Less than a month earlier, another greyhound trained by Crudeli suffered the same injury. And in January, one of his greyhounds was euthanised at the track after breaking a foreleg.

Three dogs. Three serious fractures. One dead.

How can anyone endure watching the dogs in their care suffer catastrophic injuries over and over again — and still keep sending them out to race?

This isn’t an unfortunate one-off. Serious injuries are part of greyhound racing, and it is the dogs who pay the price.
