Strathlea Hills - Animal Sanctuary A place offering sanctuary, safety, love, respect and kindness. Free from harm, the residents here get to live out the rest of their lives.

We are a self-owned, self funded and self operated animal sanctuary nestled on 118 acres on the hills of Strathlea, Victoria. Settling here in March of 2016, after moving from a smaller property in Woodend with an entourage of residents who came to be in our care dating back to 2011, we started on a blank canvas here at Strathlea which allowed us to erect much needed paddocks, coops and shelters a

llowing us to home more of those in need. They now reside with us on this beautiful property, and the large property will also give us the opportunity to extend in the future if necessary. The main purpose of us existing was we sadly came to realise the number of ‘farm’ animals we found needing homes and needing a place of refuge and safety. Our aim is to educate people on the exploitation of ‘farm’ animals and to have people who have never interacted with 'farm' animals see them through our eyes. Each one has an individual character making them who they are. The residents here experience close bonds, can play, feel sadness and bring much joy.
