Inner Eastern Local Learning and Employment Network

Inner Eastern Local Learning and Employment Network The IELLEN establishes and leads partnerships with the aim of improving education, training and employment options and outcomes for young people. .

Who we are:
The Inner Eastern Local Learning and Employment Network (IELLEN) is one of 31 Local Learning and Employment Networks (LLENs) funded across Victoria by the State Government through the Department of Education and Training. Each LLEN organisation has its own catchment area, and the IELLEN largely works across the Cities of Stonnington, Port Phillip and Boroondara. What we do:
The IELLEN

brokers partnerships with stakeholders to improve education, training and employment options and outcomes for young people. We have a particularly focus on those at risk of disengaging, and those already disengaged. The IELLEN has four main stakeholder groups:
- Education & Training Providers
- Business & Industry
- Community Groups
- Parents & Families

How we work:
Through strategic planning and stakeholder engagement we aim to broker and build purposeful relationships with our stakeholders to:
- Identify gaps in education & training provision and support services
- Explore emerging needs and establish new programs/initiatives to support successful outcomes for young people
- Support the sustained provision of local programs and services
- Conduct research, share knowledge and best practice
- Facilitate forums, conferences, expos, consultations and meetings.

A fantastic day spent with like minded people Social Traders Australia Convene 2024. We learnt so many things from great speakers and expanded our knowledge of the values of social procurement and trading. The highlight was meeting people who are as passionate about Social values as we at Eastern LLEN . We look forward to connecting with like minded organisations and people in the future, Quotient Group

Our new Vet Cluster is getting positive results with some fantastic feedback from Bemin Secondary College "it is to deal with a really well run LLEN, I am very impressed by how smooth and simple your information is, from your VET application portal, to the wonderful VET offerings, which I feel I can say is far beyond what students in the west have access to". Thank you to Stantec for presenting to both Year 10 and Year 11 students at Girls Grammar this week. Our appreciation goes out to Mink, PE, CPEng for coordinating this at the employer end.

Feedback from school and students was overwhelmingly positive. The talks were informative and provided valuable insights into a variety of careers in STEM, notably various forms of engineering and in ecology.

These sessions are crucial for guiding students towards potential career pathways before they make their post-school destination decisions.

Pictured are Wednesday's inspiring presenters: Martin, Balachandran, and Wickramasuriya. They generously shared their career paths in STEM and what their working lives are like, motivating the next generation of STEM stars.
