Enrolments and tours available South Lake Child Care Centre has worked hard to build up a strong reputation in our community. You will see that our beautiful building is well cared for and that we are well equipped with indoor and outdoor play activities. We have always had a dedicated staff and a supportive committee. Our staff prog

ramme for the individual needs of your children. We love them all and are working in this capacity because we enjoy our jobs and want to make a contribution to the development, and education of our young Australian children. We need parental involvement with our committee of management and also value parents who are able to help us with fund raising and busy bees. Our Committee Meetings are held regularly. Please consider joining us to help us maintain the high quality care we offer. Thank you for sharing your children with us but remember, we will never take your place.

Some stories remind us exactly why we do what we do. 💙

We are incredibly touched that Councillor Carol Zhang - City of Cockburn shared her family’s experience with South Lake Early Learning Centre. Her reflections are a beautiful reminder that quality early learning is about so much more than education—it’s about supporting families, building relationships, and providing a safe, nurturing place where children can thrive.

For over 30 years, our mission has remained the same: to care for every child as if they were our own and to support families through every season of life.

Thank you, Carol, for trusting us with Tim all those years ago and for sharing such a meaningful part of your journey. It was an honour to welcome you back for the opening of our new Playground.

🌿✨ A playground designed for discovery, adventure and endless imagination. ✨🌿

We’re so excited to share a closer look at our brand-new playground at South Lake Early Learning Centre!

Every element has been carefully considered to create a space where children can explore, build confidence, develop new skills and learn through play. From sensory experiences and nature-inspired features to opportunities for climbing, balancing and imaginative play, this playground has been created with our children’s growth and wellbeing at its heart.

Watching our children laugh, explore and make new discoveries in this beautiful space has been incredibly rewarding, and we can’t wait for many more memories to be made here.

🎉 A milestone worth celebrating! 🎉

We are so excited to officially open the brand-new playground at South Lake Early Learning Centre.

This beautiful new space has been thoughtfully designed to encourage exploration, creativity, confidence and learning through play. We can’t wait to see the many adventures and memories our children will create here.

A sincere thank you to Ms Sook Yee Lai MLA for officially opening our playground and to Councillor Carol Zhang from the City of Cockburn for joining us on this special occasion.

We are also incredibly grateful to Rickeeta Walley from Aboriginal Productions for leading a meaningful Smoking Ceremony, helping us begin this new chapter with respect and connection to Country.

Finally, thank you to our dedicated educators, staff and committee members whose hard work and passion continue to create an environment where children can thrive every day.

This playground is more than just a place to play—it’s a place where imaginations will grow, friendships will flourish and lifelong memories will be made. 💚

A new week of delicious, nourishing meals is ready for our little learners! 💙

Week 3 of our Winter Menu has been thoughtfully planned to provide balanced nutrition, plenty of variety, and comforting seasonal favourites to keep little bodies energised for a week of learning, exploring, and growing.

At South Lake ELC, we believe every child deserves the opportunity to learn, explore and grow through enriching experiences.

This week, our friends from Happy Feet had our little learners dancing, moving and practising their counting skills through fun and interactive activities. 💃🔢

While experiences like these often come at an additional cost, they’re included as part of our program because we want every child to participate, build confidence and create joyful memories together.

It’s all part of our commitment to providing meaningful learning experiences every single day. 💙

Our new playground is taking shape, and while we're not quite ready to reveal it all, we wanted to share a glimpse into the thinking behind the design.

At South Lake ELC, we believe a great playground is so much more than a place to play. It's a space where children can explore, imagine, create and grow.

✨ Sensory experiences encourage curiosity and support brain development.
✨ Imaginative play nurtures creativity, communication and confidence.
✨ Adventure and role play help children build resilience, problem-solving skills and friendships.
✨ Music and movement inspire self-expression and joyful learning.

Every element has been carefully chosen with one goal in mind—to create an environment where children can learn through play every single day.
