The Rotary Club of Shepparton meet every Tuesday night at the Peppermill Inn Kialla, from 6pm. New members and guests are always welcome.

Our Club Presidential Changeover was held at The Woolshed on 23rd May where a number of members joined to celebrate our last year. The event was very capably hosted by fellow Rotarian Anthony Brophy.

We farewelled Josh Freeman and thanked him for his contributions to the club as President over the last 12 months and welcomed incoming President Mervin D’Silva into the role for 2026/2027.

We also inducted 4 Paul Harris Fellows, to recognize club members for their dedication, commitment and leadership. PP Dr Joseph Tam and PP Adrian Falsetta were honored as Paul Harris Fellows alongside PP Wendy Shanks, PP Denis Muto and Val Lea who were recognized as Sapphire Paul Harris Fellows.

We are a proud club with a strong culture of service above self. We look forward to the year ahead under Mervin’s guidance.

On Sunday our members assisted on the bbq at the Annual Shepparton Botanical Gardens Open Day. It was wonderful to be part of a terrific community event.

🚨 Our Bi-Annual Police Awards were held on Tuesday night at the Peppermill. The award finalists are nominated by their peers, recognising their work in our community.

👏 Congratulations to our nominees:
DSC Scott Begbie & Const. Emma Rogers, with extra recognition to our winner Scott.

🙏 We thank our judges Prue Dobson and Peter Johnson, alongside Sam Renato, for their important contribution to the event.

A fantastic night was enjoyed by our members and we thank our guests from Vic Pol who were also in attendance:

Last night we heard from Jim Gow and the work he has been doing with “Under the same Stars” Sleepout in Shepparton.
Jim gave an insightful speech on our current youth homelessness and what the sleepout is trying to achieve in not only fundraising but awareness.
Our Club has committed a considerable donation to the event with thanks to our President Josh Freeman.

This week we joined with our friends at Shepparton South Rotary Club for our Annual Lawn Bowls night. Lots of fun and laughs were had with South eventually taking the title. It’s nights like this that remind us of the fantastic community spirit of Rotary and the camaraderie we all share. We look forward to next year.

Last week we welcomed Daniel Gleeson, Senior VP of Shepparton RSL. Daniel spoke about his time as a serviceman and his work at the Shepparton RSL. We were privileged to hear his story.

This morning, Marg and Jeanette attended the 11am Shepparton Anzac Day service, representing all our members.

A big congratulations to all involved with our charity Golf Day last Friday. A great day was enjoyed by all and it was terrific to see everyone having fun. Thanks to all of our sponsors who helped make it happen and to the teams who participated on the day.

And that’s a wrap on our big 4 days of BBQ action at the Shepparton BMX Club Nationals. A big thankyou to Rotary Club of Mooroopna for supporting us and to our club Rotarian Chris Segrave who lead the charge in making this happen. Well done to all!
