The Music Makers is a not for profit fun, loving and entertaining performance group of sport and rec services at The Disability Trust. The Music Makers showcase their abilities rather then their disabilities when they met weekly for 1.5 hours to learn dance routines, songs and performance techniques. The Music Makers is ran by volunteer’s who donate their time to teach and care for The Music Maker

The Music Makers are directed by Melissa Tierney, Melissa works closely with The Music Makers and choreographer Nicole Farrugia to create weekly lessons teaching a group of those with a disability dance moves, percussion pieces, movement pieces, singing, performance techniques and skills. The Music Makers are supported not only by Melissa and Nicole but by on-stage helpers and a wonderful team of volunteers who make up the crew… or as they like to be called The Music Maker’s family. The Music Makers practice every week during school terms and often have school holiday work shops performing at concerts, functions, charity events, ceremonies, eisteddfods and much more in preparation for their annual fundraiser show- The Creative Performance Evening By Those With A Disability which is May each year. We draw in a full of house crowd of keen supporters of the to help raise money to provide sporting and recreational activities and equipment for those with a disability throughout the Illawarra through The Disability Trust. We are always looking for Music Maker sponsors, event sponsors, donations, volunteers etc…

The Pavilion Kiama was proud to support The Disability Trust’s 16th Creative Performance Evening, helping continue the long-standing tradition of The Music Makers.

More than 200 people filled the venue, with audience members lining up before the doors opened to secure a seat and enjoy an evening of music, creativity and connection.

✨ Celebrating our 2026 Music Makers! ✨

Tonight we celebrated the success of last weekend’s incredible Music Makers show! ❤️

We were able to thank our incredible Crew who worked tirelessly behind the scenes to make the show happen, celebrated the wonderful support of our Music Maker families, and most importantly, congratulated our amazing stars - the Music Makers on their achievements. ⭐️

We also had the privilege of celebrating Grace Collins, James Phipps and Kristen Bristow on receiving their 10-Year Music Makers trophies and medals. 🏆✨

Every one of our Music Makers also received a trophy and participation certificate for their involvement in this year’s production. ❤️

And once the awards were done… it was time to PARTY! 🎉🕺💃

So proud of every single Music Maker and incredibly grateful to everyone who helps make Music Makers what it is.

What a special night celebrating an even more special group of people. ❤️✨

Last night we celebrated —

✨ 16 years of Creative Performance Evenings.
✨ 17 years of Music Makers.
✨ And a whole lot of memories, friendships and magic along the way.

What started as a high school project has become a community that I am so incredibly proud to call Music Makers.

Thank you to everyone who contributed to last night’s show. Every person who helped, supported, volunteered, encouraged, organised, performed, cheered and showed up played a part in making the night so incredibly special.

And to every single Music Maker — I am so incredibly proud of you. ❤️

We’re up bright and early and ready for a huge day!

The vans are packed, the trailer is loaded, and we’re pretty sure we’ve remembered everything… 🤞😂

Today is all about transforming Kiama Pavilion into the magic of Music Makers! It’s a full day of unloading, building, setting up, sound checks, lighting, costume changes, and rehearsals before the curtain rises tomorrow night.

Months of hard work & dedication have all led to this moment, and we can’t wait to share it with you.
