We were honoured to have our CEO, Sharmily Mukherjee, invited to be part of Vaisakhi Mela 2026, a milestone event and historic first for Oran Park and the wider Macarthur region, led by the truly visionary Councillor Dr Abha Suri. Congratulations to Camden Council NSW Australia NSW, Cr Dr Abha Suri, Mayor Therese Fedeli, Cr Eva Campbell, Cr Peter McLean and Red Crown Events for bringing this remarkable celebration to life.

This event was a powerful example of leadership bringing communities together with purpose and heart, demonstrating that thriving communities and genuine belonging are built through collective effort and shared responsibility.

Bringing experience and wisdom into the digital future!

Recently, our Operations Manager, Jagvir Singh, delivered a Building Digital Skills session with a wonderful group of seniors from Hindi and Punjabi speaking backgrounds. To enhance engagement and ensure a culturally resonant learning experience, our sessions are facilitated by team members who share the same language and cultural background as the participants.

Participants explored:
• How to use Artificial Intelligence (AI) safely in everyday life
• Translating documents and text from English into Hindi and Punjabi using ChatGPT
• Protecting personal information and staying safe online
• Hands-on AI activities to build digital skills and independence

Through curiosity, laughter and guided practice, participants not only strengthened their digital confidence but also discovered the joy of learning together. Many expressed excitement about continuing their journey with practical, activity-based sessions, especially around translation and AI tools.

Programs like this are at the heart of LEAD Connect - helping multicultural seniors build skills, confidence and connection so they can thrive in a digital world.

We’re proud to spotlight the impact of our Digital Mentor Program!

Recently LEAD Connect team member, Giodhini delivered a session to a Sri Lankan senior community group. This session was described as highly informative, thoughtfully facilitated and deeply empowering.

Participants explored:
• What it means to be a Digital Mentor
• Inspiring people to learn at any age
• Overcoming digital barriers
• Creating inclusive learning spaces
• Essential digital skills
• Facilitating discussions and activities
• Practical resources for Digital Mentors

To enhance engagement and ensure a culturally resonant learning experience, our sessions are facilitated by team members who share the same language and cultural background as the participants. Through patience, clarity and genuine dedication, participants not only strengthened their own digital capability - but they also built confidence, leadership and a shared sense of responsibility to pass knowledge on within the community.

Programs like this are at the heart of LEAD Connect. Building vital skills, connection and confidence so communities can thrive in an increasingly digital world.

Controlled is a powerful documentary that amplifies the real, lived stories of women whose experiences were overlooked, dismissed or never believed. Their truth is a reminder that change doesn’t happen by accident - it happens when communities refuse to look away… when communities choose to listen, to learn and to act.

We facilitated our first Digital Mentor Capacity Building session early this month, and it was such a powerful day.

A group of women from diverse backgrounds came together to build the skills and confidence to support seniors in their own communities with everyday technology.

What this really means is that more senior members of our communities will have someone they trust to guide them through things like online appointments, staying in touch with family, or simply feeling confident using their devices.

Participants shared that they learned new ways to encourage elders to try technology without feeling overwhelmed, and they’re excited to take these strategies back into their communities.

Small steps, big impact.

Good Things Foundation Australia
