On Sunday, 31st May 2026, Scout members and their families celebrated the reopening of 1st Kings Langley Scout Hall with special guests Mayor of Blacktown City Brad Bunting and Mark Taylor MP. It was a significant milestone as the Scout hall had been closed since February 2025 due to extensive termite damage. We would like to sincerely thank Blacktown City Council for undertaking construction works to make it a safe environment for our Scouts and the local community.

Buzzing into World Bee Day 🐝🌼

Bees are vital for our environment because they pollinate many of the plants we rely on for food and healthy ecosystems - about one-third of the food we eat depends on them. Without bees, biodiversity and food production would be at serious risk.

Scouts are working to protect these important pollinators and support the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) through simple actions like planting native flowers, avoiding pesticides, and creating safe habitats.

Every small action helps protect bees - and our planet.

You’re warmly invited to celebrate the reopening of the 1st Kings Langley Scout Hall.

The Scout Hall was closed in February 2025 due to significant pest activity. Since then, our Scout Group Committee has worked closely with Blacktown Council to complete extensive refurbishment works. These improvements include the reconstruction of the rear section of the hall, featuring new bathrooms and storage rooms, creating a safe, functional, and welcoming space for the return of Scout activities.

We are also delighted to announce this year marks a special milestone for 1st Kings Langley as we celebrate 45 years as an active Scout Group. To celebrate these achievements, we would like to invite you to a reopening event where 1st Kings Langley Scout members, families and community members will come together at the Scout Hall.

1st Kings Langley held its Annual Report Presentation this evening; all the group's sections (plus Kings Langley Rover Unit) gave reports on the various activities and events that their respective members attended in 2025.

Very special thanks to Mark Taylor MP (Member for Winston Hills) for making the time to visit our group this evening.

SUNDAY MARCH 1ST 9AM – 12PM

All sections (and their families) are invited to join us in cleaning up the local environment at the Lalor Park Guide Hall. Everyone should have received an email to register but you can also access the event here:

All uniformed members will receive a certificate and blanket badge, and you can count the service hours towards badgework requirements.

It was on this day in 1857 that Lord Robert Baden-Powell (the Founder of Scouting) was born.

Today we celebrate the legacy and birthday of the Scouting Movement's founder, Lord Robert Baden-Powell, and the incredible impact the Scouting Movement has had, and continues to have, on millions of lives worldwide.

Founder’s Day is also a time to renew our commitment to the Scout Promise and Law - to be people of character, courage, compassion, and hope.
