What a fabulous opportunity. If ThermOates - Eliza Oates Thermomix Consultant gets enough interest it looks like Tassie Mums may benefit from a raffle, the winner receiving a brand new thermomix. Check the original post and comment 🧡🧡

One of the things we value most at Tassie Mums is the opportunity to work alongside other organisations doing important work in our community 🧡

Recently, we had Foodbank Tasmania CEO Cameron and volunteer Angela pop in to visit us, and it was a wonderful opportunity to connect, share resources, and better understand the work each organisation is doing across our community.

An exchange of goods also took place during the visit, which is exactly why we value strong relationships within the social service sector. When organisations work together, support can move more efficiently to those who need it most.

These relationships are such an important part of how we operate, ensuring relief is not only provided, but that it is coordinated, respectful, and reaches families in the most effective way possible.

We are grateful for organisations like Foodbank Tasmania and for the shared commitment to supporting Tasmanian families 🧡

A huge thank you to all the thoughtful donors who quietly and anonymously pop parcels in the mail for us 🧡

We recently collected this lovely bundle of brand new un**es from our PO Box, and while we may never know who sent them, please know these donations make an enormous difference.

Un**es and socks are two items we can never have too many of, as they are the only clothing items that absolutely must be brand new in the packs we provide to children. For us, it is all about dignity.

These donations never go unnoticed, and we wanted to give a special shout out to the many kind people who thoughtfully add a packet or two of socks and un**es alongside their other donations. It might seem like a small addition, but it has a huge impact for the families we support 🧡

Un**es and socks are always very welcome and can be posted to:

Every donation makes a difference 💛 https://tassiemums.raiselysite.com/
Tassie Mums is powered by hundreds of generous donations, that come together to support children in crisis across Tasmania.

One donation may provide a warm jacket.
Another might fund school supplies.
Together, they ensure a child feels cared for, supported and not forgotten.

Before 30 June, your tax-deductible donation becomes part of something much bigger.

This photo really captures what this time of year looks like at Tassie Mums 🧡
Right now is one of our busiest seasons - not only are requests for support increasing, but donations are arriving in huge volumes too. Sometimes it can be hard to truly visualise what happens inside Tassie Mums until you see it for yourself.

Visitors often walk through our warehouse doors and say, “Wow, it’s so much bigger than I imagined!” closely followed by, “It’s so well organised!”

That organisation is incredibly important to what we do. Every item that comes through our doors needs a place to belong, so part of managing the warehouse well means understanding the limitations of our building and being realistic about what we can physically store, sort and distribute.

While this photo shows a lot happening (and yes… we do find it very hard to say no to clothing donations 🧡), it also helps explain why we have a donations list outlining both what we can and can’t accept.

Every donation needs a home, and every square metre of space matters when you are supporting so many babies and children across Tasmania.

Before you donate, please take a moment to review our list here: https://tassiemums.org/what-to-donate 🧡 If you’re ever unsure or an item isn’t listed, please feel free to send us a DM to check before dropping things off or posting.

At times we also need to slow down or pause certain items temporarily, simply so we can keep up with sorting and ensure everything we receive is used quickly and safely.

We hope this gives a little insight into the scale of what our volunteers manage each week - and why your thoughtful, targeted donations make such a difference 🧡

Yes we LOVE Duplo 🧡

One question we get asked fairly often by donors is whether we accept Duplo… and the answer is absolutely yes! Especially packs like the ones you see here.

A lovely donor recently dropped off this tub of Duplo, along with a note to let us know it had all been freshly washed (which our volunteers were very grateful for!). We can then sort it into individual little packs using the amazing plastic linen bags so many of you generously donate.

Clean donations make such a difference to our volunteers, as they can be packed and sent out to children much more quickly. Duplo is actually quite easy to wash too - you can pop it in the dishwasher or give it a scrub in a bucket with some dishwashing soap and warm water.

All these little things help us get donations ready to go straight out to families who need them 🧡
