MEOW rescue is a NOT for profit organisation which rescues Cats and Kittens within the Melbourne area. We have grown from one person into a rescue group.

We are a kitten and cat rescue group run by volunteers.

for by our team of foster carers in their own homes so come socialised and in most cases have had interaction with other cats and dogs. All kittens and cats have been vet checked, wormed, treated for fleas, desexed, microchipped and vaccinated and are looking for their purrfect home.

We work with the community, shelters/pounds and other rescue groups to make change in the lives of so many unwanted animals. We run a last litter program whereby people surrender their litter of kittens to us and we desex the Mother cat for free, thus stopping the cycle of unwanted litters. We are also happy to discuss any issues relating to your cats/kittens and try to help keep these cats and kittens out of pounds. Poor Roman… if he didn’t have it tough when his mum and siblings were left abandoned at the entrance of a vet clinic. His carer thought there just wasn’t something right, often the observer of play between his siblings, often sitting and uncomfortable when held on further vet investigation and X-rays he was found to have old fractures throughout his tail and at the base of his tail.

A full tail amputation was needed and has Roman flourished in care since! Playing happily now, climbing the cat towers, joining in on kitten play! Loving being held now and no more constant sitting he is everything a kitten should be and seems so every grateful with a new sprint in his step.

The gentle sweet soul of the tuxedo boys!
Zac is a darling charmer, his sweet little face often will greet you from the couch or in a cosy part of your lounge room where he is awaiting a pat and will purr in return. He is truly the most relaxed kitten, with a playful side that would suit someone or a family looking for an affectionate older kitten that will happily be your couch companion and keep your legs warm at night.

You will often see him finding entertainment in a cat ball rolling it down the hallway and rolling around the floor pushing it with his paws. He is the boy that sits on the cat tower watching his siblings rough and tumble play and thinks I’d rather bask in the sun! They can do all the hard work.

He has been raised in a busy household with kids over 9 years and happily picked up gently by them and enjoys there attention. He has been dog tested with gentle cat friendly large and medium dogs and isn’t fazed by their presence as long as there gentle. He loves other cats company but doesn’t need one for his happiness and prefers to play with toys or sleep snuggled in a cosy cat bed or tower. He is confident and loving and his foster carers will miss him dearly but know he needs his forever family.
