St Marys Outpost

St Marys Outpost St Marys Outpost is a volunteer organisation for current serving and former members of the ADF.

We provide assistance to Veterans of all conflicts and their families. The Outpost offices are located at St Marys, an outer western suburb of Sydney, New South Wales, Australia and is affiliated with the Vietnam Veterans Association of Australia National Council Inc. Although primarily an association of Vietnam Veterans, the Sub-Branch also provides assistance to Australian veterans of other conf

licts, serving members of Australia's armed forces and veterans of allied forces. Support provided ranges from basic entitlement advice, claims assistance and advocacy services. The St Marys RSL Sub Branch Social Guild provides a wide range of discounted activities to members of the Outpost who are either full or associate members of the RSL Sub-Branch. The Outpost receives limited Official Government funding, and also raises funds by way of membership fees and donations, a close relationship with the St Marys RSL and Ex-Serviceman's Club Ltd is also maintained. The Outpost General Meetings are now being held bi-monthly in the Train at 9.30am on the third Thursday of March, May, July, September and November each year.

On Tuesday evening we commemorated the 60th Anniversary of the Battle of Long Tan. Vin Cosgrove, spoke in detail of the battle and the information that had gone through Sig Corp prior to the battle with the information from the memoirs of our past President Gary Fizzell who served in Vietnam 1966-1967.

We had an "Outstanding" Catafalque Party of contemporary Veterans who dismounted to a standing ovation. Thank you, fellas.

Thank you to all who participated in the service and attended the service.

A special thank you to our MC Sharon, who pulled the whole service together.
