We believe the best way of achieving this is through education. When people participate in programs offered by Wild Mountains they are inspired and motivated to make personal and behavioural changes

which promotes the sustainability of the natural environment over which they have stewardship. Many people tell us that they remember their experience at Wild Mountains as a turning point in their thinking.

LET’S FINISH THE JOB! 🔨🌿

We’re pretty good at biting off more than we can chew at Wild Mountains.

Bruce’s Shed is no exception!

What started as a retrofit has turned into a complex job with plenty of moving parts (and a few surprises along the way). We’ve made great progress, but some parts of the project have taken longer than we expected.

Now we’re keen to get the Shed to a usable state by the end of the year — and we could use a few extra hands to help us get there.

Could you spare a weekend?

We’ve got two Volunteer Weekends planned:
16–18 October 2026
13–15 November 2026

There’ll be plenty to do, and all skill levels are welcome. If you’re handy with the tools, even better — we might just save you an extra helping of dessert. 😉

And if a whole weekend isn’t possible, midweek visits can also be arranged.

Come for the weekend, lend a hand, meet some good people and help us bring Bruce’s Shed one step closer to being ready for the next chapter of Wild Mountains.

Sometimes there’s a lot of walls in this world…but we are happy about these ones!

Bruce’s Shed is shaping up to be a versatile and beautiful community space.

We will have the crew onsite again for the next “retrofit” volunteer weekend 7 - 9 August 2026.

Step away from the busyness of everyday life and spend a weekend surrounded by rainforest, good food, and great company 🏕️

From 31 July – 2 August, join us for our Rainforest Camp Out — a chance to connect with nature, contribute to hands-on landcare projects, and share a memorable weekend with a welcoming community.

• Stay in an A-frame tent or bring your own camping setup
• Take part in landcare activities and explore the natural surroundings
• Enjoy yoga, live music, campfires, and time to relax
• All vegetarian meals, snacks, and accommodation are included

Can you join our next volunteer weekend?

Friday 26 June - Sunday 28 June 2026

The floor is ready. What a huge milestone! Now we start the fitout. We are framing up walls, installing doors, insulating the roof and walls and lining the interior.

The Shed is going to be transformed into a beautiful space for programs, volunteers and venue hire.

We’re looking for up to 20 volunteers to create an epic team alongside our professional builders.
