Welcome to Coast To Coast Animal Friends. We are a not-for-profit registered charity (CH2472) organization funded entirely by public donations. Our group is a community of like-minded people who volunteer their time and work tirelessly creating awareness through outreach and education programs. We are a grass-roots, animal advocacy group based in South East Queensland, Australia, focusing on local
animal-based issues as well as highlighting international campaigns. HOW WE BEGAN
On Saturday June 18th 2011, there was a 'National Day Of Action To Ban Live Export'. called by Animals Australia and the RSPCA Sadly, in many regional centres, few people knew the rally was on and attendance numbers were very low. However, a random group of 20 people, who didn’t know each other, gathered at the Gold Coast Council Chambers to add their voice. There were no politicians and no media, but from that meeting arose a commitment by those few... that there was so much more we could do as a group. COAST TO COAST ANIMAL FRIENDS was born.
~*We dedicate this group to the memory of 'Tommy & Friends' from Animals Australia’s investigative documentary, ‘A Bloody Business’, shown on the ABC’s Four Corners program. This was the catalyst for everything we now do. Our mission is to make a difference in the lives of the millions of suffering animals and bring about awareness of their plight.*~
WHO WE ARE NOW
We are a support advocacy group for six major animal rights organizations, Animals Australia being the first and the leading animal investigative group in Australia. We advocate a cruelty-free lifestyle and all that it encompasses. Our work locally includes creating campaigns, rallies, forums, fundraising events and our proactive outreach animal action stalls. OUR VISION
To unite as a group for worthy causes that need to be heard and actioned. To be a voice for the millions of animals who have none. To raise awareness and raise funds to support animal causes. To have a fabulous time meeting other like-minded people. WHAT WE HAVE ACHIEVED SO FAR
