Another successful Sausage Sizzle fundraiser!

We are delighted to share that we raised over $2,200 in profit. A huge thank you to everyone who supported this event in so many ways.

Special thanks to our head chefs, Lion John and Lion Sobana, and to our champion President Kumar for his leadership. Heartfelt appreciation to all who generously gave their time on the day: Lions Susan, Shane, Warwick, Mark, Shashi, and Andrew.

Thank you also to Lions Michael and Ranjenie for preparing the onions, and to Lion Sheila for the delicious cakes and coffee.

We were especially touched by the generosity of one lovely lady who brought in all her spare change and donated the entire amount $75 to the Lions Club. We also received heartfelt thanks from several members of the public who expressed their appreciation for our contribution and ongoing commitment to making a real difference in our community.

Our December meeting was yet another wonderful success for our club. Every member played a part in creating 20 generously filled laundry-basket hampers for individuals and families doing it tough in our community.

It was a joyful evening where everyone not only contributed but lovingly packed each hamper, sharing plenty of laughter along the way. We were also honoured by a visit from our 2nd Vice District Governor, Sam Koutsampasis, who joined us to witness the incredible spirit of service on display.

To top it all off, even Santa made a special appearance to see the amazing work being done at the Lions Club of Lysterfield.

Well done, Lions a truly heart warming effort!

Our November meeting was filled with love, generosity, and kindness. We were honoured to welcome District Governor David Cordell, who joined us for a wonderful evening of fellowship and service.

Together, we proudly presented 50 Christmas gifts for children in need, which was delivered to the Kingston Resource Centre. In addition, our club generously donated cookies to be included in Christmas hampers, helping spread festive joy to many families.

The evening also included recognising members for their incredible efforts and dedication. We are truly grateful for the generosity, compassion, and servant hearts within our club. I would like to express our heartfelt gratitude to our main sponsor — the Lions Club of Lysterfield, Melbourne, Australia — for their generous contribution towards the hunger relief project held on 4th December 2025

Their support enabled us to serve *400 flood-affected families* in Mabima East and West with warm meals during this challenging time. It was a shining example of global Lionism and unity in service.

This was a joint project by the *Lions Club of Biyagama*, *Lions Club of Biyagama Vocational*, and the *Lions Club of Lysterfield – Melbourne*. Special thanks to our dedicated Chairpersons for their tireless efforts.

Appreciation also goes out to the *Presidents and Members* of both Biyagama Clubs for their cooperation, and to all Lions and non-Lions who participated and supported this project — your dedication is truly commendable.
