Sunday saw our final injecting day for the season as we move towards other activities for the coming rainy and cold weather. It was a pleasure to treat the trees surrounding the Family Centre, and to enjoy the always delicious morning tea. A big thank you to everyone who has helped protect our trees this season, and we look forward to seeing you at the exciting events we have planned across Autumn and Winter. Stay tuned!!

A great turn out this Sunday at the Cross Park Precinct. Just imagine how much traffic is around those trees so we must take care of them by treating them against dieback disease. Thank you everyone for your efforts on a warm day. Next field day will be our last dieback treament field day until September so if you are keen to learn how to look after your trees then check out our website for the date and place.

Sunday was a warm welcome back for us injecting trees out at Cross Park Precinct. It’s always a great feeling to get back into it for the New Year, and all under the canopy of the beautiful flowering Marris. The year might be new, but the morning tea, reliably delicious. Is your New Year’s resolution to give back to our bush? Lucky for you, we are out again in a month’s time, so bring an appetite and get ready to experience the best baked goods in the suburb, served with a generous side of community spirit!!

Our very last field day for this year saw us head out in the heat of the morning yesterday to treat a section of the bush within the Cross Park Precinct. A big thank you to everyone who braved the crispy conditions, and to all who have volunteered with us across the whole year! A special shout out as always must go to the providers of what is without question, simply known as “the best” morning tea.

As we wind down for this year, all of us at Roleybushcare wish you a peaceful and relaxing festive break. See you in the new year!!

An absolutely fantastic morning yesterday continuing our dieback treatment of Colquhoun Reserve alongside some very enthusiastic, capable volunteers from the Roleystone Scouts. Definitely felt the community spirit strongly from these young ones, no better way to come together than caring for our beautiful reserves. Fuelled up by our always legendary morning tea (thanks to our wonderful volunteers), this completes our work at Colquhoun Reserve! Well done everybody!!

Our new trailer sign was generously designed and donated – and even fitted to the trailer – by Kevin Kelly of Sierra Sign Management. We are delighted to thank Kevin who is a Roleystone resident and has started his own local sign design and development company after over 20 years experience in the signage business.
Please consider contacting Kevin if you have any queries regarding signs. Thank you Kevin!

Thank you to the volunteers who helped inject trees in Colquhoun Reserve last Sunday. Another large part of the reserve has now been protected from dieback.

We had two special visitors to the field day to officially "launch" our new trailer. Thanks to our local Bendigo Bank and Plico Community Fund (a sustainable WA based solar energy group) for the funding for this magnificent trailer. One of our volunteers, Peter Blaney-Murphy fitted out the inside of the trailer. Thank you Peter..

On Sunday we joined forces with Armadale Gosnells Landcare Group , along with a large contingent of Scouts from both the Roleystone and Byford Scouts groups to continue the annual revegetation of the Canning River along the Heritage Walk Trail, planting a staggering 2960 plants!! With the conditions both sunny and muddy, the young ones wasted no time getting the seedlings in the ground! 🌱

It was wonderful to be part of this event once again and see so many people from across the community and the wider Scarp come together to help the river ecosystem along the Heritage Walk Trail thrive.

Of course, the day would not have been complete without a morning tea of truly epic proportions. Thanks to our wonderful volunteers who provided what can only be described as a plethora of scrumptious delights 🍪☕🍎🍰

Thank you to Armadale Gosnells Landcare Group for another successful planting day. The transformation of this section of the river has been truly remarkable and we look forward to seeing the new seedlings flourish 🌱🌳🌿
