Minimum wage and living wage aren't the same thing.
Paying someone the legal minimum doesn't mean you're paying them enough to actually live on.

An ABC Australian Story follows Perth mother Deirdre Croft, 72, who has spent 45 years caring for her son Richard, who has a profound intellectual disability caused by birth trauma. As her health declines, Deirdre confronts a question many ageing carers face: who will care for their child when they die, and how to secure a safe, supportive future.

She gently holds his arm as they stand outdoors in front of leafy greenery. The man appears animated and expressive, while the woman looks at him with warmth and attentiveness.

Working from home is essential for disabled people.
We need it.

Are most disabled people poor because we live in a society build on productivity and ableism?

I think all disabled people should be legally allowed to pirate everything forever.

The problem with trying to raise awareness for disabilities is the algorithm only shows your words to other disabled people and disability advocates.
It wants you to have to pay for reach.
It wants you to spend money.

There is something seriously wrong with how information is shared around social media.
We need to hold these tech gods accountable.
They are making the world a much more dangerous and polarized entity.
This has to stop.

A big part of ableism is the inability to understand that being able to do something occasionally with great effort (does not equal sign) being able to it for 40 hrs/week.

Hi all I have been a bit quiet as I am weighing up what to do with this page.
I wanted to do disability facts and information but I am thinking this is not what people with disabilities need.

This is not what the world needs.
The world needs sanity.
Cooler heads and educated people who are leaders in their field to need be actually listened to, instead of influencers and leeches.

There are a lot of decisions being made both in Australia and abroad that is effecting not just disabled people but everyone.

From the cost of living crisis to the housing crisis.
One of the things that is standing out is that there are more than two sides to all stories and they all seem to have different measuring tapes.

By this I mean facts.
Here are some facts though.
Disabled people are struggling, they are under more attack and are viewed and treated poorly across the world.

If you think you are struggling on above minimum wage try not being able to work because the world is designed for able bodied people.
Human decency is eroding, all for the idea of productivity and wealth worship.

I am looking at career politicians in Australia and around the globe and realizing they are so out of touch with their actual voters and the people the represent.

I am looking at what it takes to go into politics atm.
I don't bloody want to, being in the public eye and dealing with low lives sounds horrible and stressful.

But there are decisions being made that affect every Australian and a lot of tax money is being wasted.
A lot of people are getting hurt and a lot of things are being swept under the rug.

Housing is not a privilege in 2026, it should not be a way to extract every cent from peoples lives just so they have a place to live.

We need proper council housing.
It is very simple we have basic housing condo's that have amenities are close to schools and give people their dignity back.
30% of your income goes to rent ( that's it).
If you have a high paying job, want more space then you go to the private sector.

These should be not just near schools but good schools and all schools should be good schools because giving the children of the future an equal opportunity to learn and grow is the belief we have grown up with.

This is one of the few things that boggles my mind that we are not doing.

We should be legalizing ma*****na and allowing Australian businesses and small business to grow it.
All the medical Ma*****na we have is bought from overseas.
Why are we sending money overseas for something we could be growing in Australia.
Why are we letting big businesses and big pharma have control over a new income stream?
Why are we so against change in this country?

Why are we not making jobs and work places more accessible and flexible for people with disabilities?
Why are we not creating jobs for disabled people to do within the government sector?
Is it because it is not fair to able bodied people?
Well how is that even remotely reasonable?
They have the same chances of getting disabled as disabled people and I bet your bottom dollar if they end up disabled they will be wondering why is there not better jobs and better help available to disabled people?

Why are we not taxing mining companies more for the wealth they rip out of the ground in Australia?
Why have we not been taxing them more to use this money to fuel growth in other areas of business and sustainability in Australia?

To***co is bad for you, yes people get that but taxing it to the point that people buy it from criminals at 1/4 of the price. This is not good public policy.

These are all decisions being made for you that are not decisions that are helping you.

We import hate and divisive views from overseas but do not import strong policies and human decency.

I think its time for a real change in Australia.
