🖤💛❤️ NAIDOC Week 2026 | 50 Years of Deadly 🖤💛❤️

For 50 years, NAIDOC Week has celebrated the strength, resilience, cultures and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.

This year's theme, "50 Years of Deadly," honours the legacy of those who have paved the way while celebrating the voices, stories and achievements that continue to shape our communities today.

For the Stolen Generations Council NSW/ACT, NAIDOC Week is also a time to acknowledge the strength and resilience of Stolen Generations Survivors and Descendants. It is an opportunity to reflect on our shared history, celebrate culture, strengthen connections and continue walking together on the path towards truth, healing and justice.

Whether you're attending a community event, supporting Aboriginal businesses, listening to First Nations voices or taking the time to learn more about our shared history, every action contributes to a stronger future.

From all of us at the Stolen Generations Council NSW/ACT, we wish everyone a safe, meaningful and inspiring NAIDOC Week.

Join us at the Eora NAIDOC Inner City Family Fun Day! 🖤💛❤️

The Stolen Generations Council NSW/ACT team will be at this year's Eora NAIDOC Inner City Family Fun Day, and we'd love to see you there!

Come and visit our stall to say hello, meet our friendly team, learn more about the services and supports we provide for Stolen Generations Survivors and Descendants, and have a yarn with us.

There'll be something for everyone, including live entertainment, cultural performances, Elders Space, youth activities, community stalls, a BBQ lunch and so much more. It's a wonderful opportunity to come together, celebrate culture, connect with community and honour the spirit of NAIDOC Week.

Today we remember 13 February 2008 - the day our nation formally apologised to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, and in particular to the Stolen Generations.
The words “we say sorry” acknowledged the profound grief, suffering and loss caused by past government policies that removed children from their families, communities and Country.

For many Survivors, this moment was powerful. For many, the journey of healing continues.

At Stolen Generations Council NSW/ACT Inc., we honour the strength, resilience and truth of our Survivors and their families - not just today, but every day.

The apology was a milestone. Our work towards justice, healing and recognition continues. 🖤💛❤️
