Making some noise at the Seniors Hub!

There is a special kind of magic that happens when a community finds its rhythm together. Our recent drumming circle with the wonderful Karina was full of life, energy, and - most importantly - genuine connection.

The Seniors Hub is all about creating a space where you can try something new, meet new friends, and feel the pulse of our local community. Whether you’re a natural percussionist or you’ve never picked up a drum in your life, Karina’s energy makes everyone feel like they belong in the circle.

It’s more than just music; it’s about the health benefits of staying active, the joy of shared experiences, and the warm smiles that stay with you long after the final beat. It's exactly what Omnicare stands for - someone to walk beside you (and maybe beat a drum with you!) on your journey.

That’s a wrap! What an incredible Roadshow. 🚐✨

We’ve just finished the final stop of our Participant Roadshow, and our hearts are full.

There is nothing quite like being face-to-face with our community. Over the last few weeks, we’ve travelled across the Mid North Coast to sit down, have a cuppa, and talk through how the Support at Home changes are working for you.

The best part? The conversation. We didn't need notebooks - just plenty of tea and some really great questions! Now that these changes are in place, hearing your stories and answering your specific questions in person reminds us why we do what we do. Transitioning to a new support model can feel like a lot to take in, but we hope these sessions made the journey feel a little clearer and a lot more human.

Energy, community, and a very exciting prize! 🥗✨

We had such a fantastic time meeting everyone at the Seniors Retirement and Lifestyle Expo at in Port Macquarie this week!

The room was buzzing, but the highlight for us was definitely the chats we had with so many of our local neighbours. It was wonderful to hear your stories and talk about how we can help you stay independent and happy in the home you love.

Our Meals on Wheels Competition Update:
A huge thank you to everyone who entered our draw to win a full week’s worth of nutritious, home-delivered meals. We had a record number of entries, and we are currently tallying them up!

Who says Friday the 13th has to be unlucky? 🎨🕷️

Last Friday, our Greenmeadows Day Centre was transformed into a vibrant art studio for a very special session of Art Therapy with Karina.

We took a deep dive into the world of Wassily Kandinsky, the famous Russian painter known for his bold shapes and emotional use of colour. Art therapy is about so much more than just putting paint to paper - it’s a wonderful way to express ourselves, keep our minds active, and connect with others in a meaningful way.

Seeing the focus and the beautiful, Kandinsky-inspired pieces that came out of the session was a real highlight for everyone involved.

Of course, we couldn't let Friday the 13th pass without a little bit of "spooky" fun:
Our amazing staff really got into the spirit, whipping up some incredible spider cupcakes for everyone to enjoy while they painted. There was plenty of laughter, plenty of treats, and absolutely no "bad luck" in sight!

A huge thank you to Karina for sharing her expertise and helping us explore the therapeutic side of art.

Let’s talk about the future of care - over a cuppa! ☕

Today marks Day 1 of our 6-day Participant Roadshow, and we couldn’t have asked for a better start right here in Port Macquarie.

We know there’s been a lot of talk lately about the changes happening with Support at Home. We also know that when things start changing in real-time, it can feel a little overwhelming. That’s exactly why we’re hitting the road.

We’ve invited our participants along for morning tea to sit down, have a real chat, and clear up the confusion. No clinical jargon, just honest answers to your questions about what these changes mean for you right now, and a chance for us to listen to what matters most.

A Splash of Competition and Comfort at Greenmeadows! 🎱🎳

There’s nothing like a bit of friendly rivalry to brighten up the week! Our Port Macquarie Day Centre was buzzing recently as we hosted an indoor games day. From the precision of lawn bowls to a lively round of pool, the room was filled with laughter and plenty of team spirit. 🏆

Of course, all that competition works up quite an appetite! Our chef served up a classic treat - crispy fish and chips for lunch, followed by a warm apple crumble for dessert. 🐟🍟🍎

Days like these are what our centre is all about: staying active, sharing a delicious meal, and enjoying the company of good friends. It’s about more than just care; it’s about connection and community. 🤝✨
