Biodiversity Conservation Licence number: MWL000100402 Koala Conservation Australia proudly operates the Koala Hospital Port Macquarie, the Wild Koala Breeding Program and Visitor Centre at Guulabaa,

plantations and conservation programs. The koala hospital is currently closed for redevelopment - set to reopen in mid-2026, and is set in the beautiful grounds of Macquarie Nature Reserve and has been in operation since 1973. We have a number of permanent resident koalas to visit at our Wild Koala Breeding Visitor Centre and, at any given time, a number in rehab receiving treatment for injuries and illness. The Wild Koala Breeding Visitor Centre is open from 8:30am-4pm, 364 days a year (not Christmas Day). Book via our website for entry and group tours.
