Liam and Paul Smyth trusted me with one of their elite fleet of Hearse and I couldn’t wipe the smile off my face.
30 mins of cruise time in this epic vehicle.
When I’m gone, send me off in this one please. 🖤

Today I received a phone call at 9.30 asking if I could support as a Funeral Director, and 45 mins later I am in the car ready to meet the Hearse and head to Rookwood Cemetery in Sydney.
I will always say yes to serve and support in end of life services. đź–¤

Today I supported a family who farewelled their Mum, Nan, Gigi with care, and love.
The family had pre planned the celebration with their Mum - the music, the poems, the eulogy, and the moments. I had the honour of weaving into a ceremony and supporting the flow.
We celebrated a woman who lived a remarkable life, from a young girl in wartime Glasgow, the nineteen year old who sailed alone across the world for love, who then married and had 5 children, and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She was the matriarch of the family.
The family said you would always find her in one of 3 places:
- she was either in front of you to protect you,
- beside you to walk with you,
- or behind you to catch you if you fell, or give you the gentle push you need.
And that wasn’t just for her family, it was for anyone.

🤍

Thank you to White Lady Funerals for their care and attention to detail.

Yesterday I posted my story about Brad.
A few hours later while I was cooking dinner I opened Facebook and was served this memory.
A 12 year old one where Brad had tagged me in a picture of a simple packet of pork crackle.
He barely used Facebook back then, yet he used it on that day. He would have no idea of the meaning of this 12 years later. For that memory to come up on a day I decided to be vulnerable.
I don’t believe in coincidences anymore.
And that’s the thing about grief.
Your people don’t leave you.
They just change how they show up.
Have you had these experiences and what have they been?

A Death Doula helps loved ones find the creek.
The thing that reflects the person.
The final honouring that reflects the person.
Decisions made from love rather than shock.
Memories to hold and heal.

If you’re supporting someone through loss, or if you’re walking this road right now. I’m with you.
