Last December, TasWater’s hardworking staff spent their time managing the heavy downpour and flooding around Hobart, missing out on their well-deserved Christmas function.

With less than six days' notice, our Satellite Club rose to the challenge! Organizing a festive gathering at Risdon Brook Dam on such short notice was no small feat, but we made it happen.

The sun was shining, the spirit was high, and while we were all a little tired, the joy of giving back to these incredible workers made it all worth it.

Proud to be Rotarians—doing good in the community! 💙💪

🔥ꜱᴇʀᴠɪɴɢ ᴜᴘ ᴄᴏᴍᴍᴜɴɪᴛʏ ꜱᴘɪʀɪᴛ ᴀᴛ ꜱᴇʟꜰꜱ ᴘᴏɪɴᴛ! 🍔🌭

On Saturday, November 30, TasWater invited our Satellite Rotary Club to host the BBQs for their Sewer Transformational Information Session at Selfs Point. With over 200 people expected, our Ace BBQ Team—Noel, Philip, Brad, Alan, Mel, Gill, Kim, and Rotary President Charles—was ready for the challenge!

The event focused on the new sewage pump station at Macquarie Point and a new sewer pipeline to Selfs Point Treatment Plant. But while the topic was all about infrastructure, the crowd was all about the food!

With a steady stream of hungry TasWater customers, we kept the BBQ sizzling, and they were not disappointed. A fantastic day filled with teamwork, community, and of course, great food!

📢 Help Grow the Jam Project! 🍓🥒

Made locally by members of the Rotary Satellite Club of Battery Point, where possible using donated fruits, vegetables and jars. All proceeds from their sale go to support Rotary's community work, locally, Nationally and internationally.
Our Rotary Jam Project is thriving, but we need your help to keep it growing! Here’s how you can contribute:

1️⃣ Empty Jars Needed! ♻️ We use 100-150 jars per week! If you have clean, label-free jars, please bring them to Rotary meetings or drop them off. Help with jar cleaning is also much appreciated!

2️⃣ Fruit & Veg Donations 🍏🥕 We can turn almost anything into jams, pickles, and sauces! If you have surplus from your garden or know of unused fruit trees, let us know.

3️⃣ Join a Working Bee! 🏡 Once a month, we prep fruit & veg together—3-4 hours of work followed by lunch! Let me know if you're interested.

4️⃣ Selling & Labelling 🏷️ Weekly markets, op-shops, and community stalls help fund our cause. Volunteers for labelling and sales are welcome!

Together, we can grow this project to $50,000/year! Comment or DM to get involved! ❤️

🌞 Had a fantastic day catering for 53 energetic Grade 4 students and their amazing teachers from Corpus Christi at The Lea! Seeing their smiles and sharing laughs made our day. Thanks for letting us be part of your adventure! 💙🍎
