PEACH Funding Enhances Respiratory Testing Services
$14,639 for Trolleys for lung function testing equipment
(part funded with our partners, Beyond Bank)

Respiratory Care WA provides free, personalised, community-based respiratory services for people living with asthma and Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) across Western Australia.
Their services include respiratory education, diagnostic lung function testing, health promotion activities, and specialist respiratory training for health professionals. Through access to best practice, multi-disciplinary expertise, Respiratory Care WA supports Western Australians facing respiratory health challenges to live healthier, more active lives.

Demand for Respiratory Care WA’s lung function testing services has grown significantly, with services now operating across four metropolitan locations and one regional site. Referrals for both adult and paediatric testing have increased exponentially, resulting in waitlists. Early diagnosis and intervention through accurate lung function testing is a crucial component of effective respiratory care.

To support this growing demand, PEACH has provided funds to purchase two purpose-built trolleys for lung function testing equipment. These trolleys safely house all testing equipment in one place and allow it to be securely transported between testing locations, improving efficiency, safety, and service delivery across sites.

Respiratory Care WA has enhanced its capability thanks to the generous support of Alcoa Australia employees who choose to give through PEACH (Personnel Employed at Alcoa Charity Help)—our employee run, volunteer charitable trust.

“PEACH exists so that Alcoa Australia employees can directly support initiatives that make a real difference in our local communities where we work, and live,” said Trish Morris, PEACH President. “

PEACH Funding Enhances Spinal Cord Injury Awareness
$8,000 for Digital Interactive Whiteboard and We**am
(part funded with our partners, Beyond Bank)

The Paraplegic Benefit Fund Australia understand spinal cord injury (SCI) because they live it. Through lived-experience peer support, financial protection, and injury prevention programs, PBF supports people with SCI to lead fulfilling lives—while working to ensure preventable spinal cord injuries become a thing of the past.

Founded in 1984, this not for profit organisation was established with a clear mission: to prevent accidents at home, work, and play that can result in spinal cord trauma and paralysis. Today, PBF has a nationwide membership and delivers a growing range of education, peer support, financial assistance, and employment programs, all inspired and informed by lived experience of SCI

The Paraplegic Benefit Fund has recently enhanced its online capability thanks to the generous support of Alcoa Australia employees who choose to workplace give through PEACH (Personnel Employed at Alcoa Charity Help)—our employee run, volunteer charitable trust.

“PEACH exists so that Alcoa Australia employees can directly support initiatives that make a real difference in our local communities where we work, and live,” said Trish Morris, PEACH President. “

PEACH funding has enabled more effective meetings and training with PBF’s Queensland team and strengthened their ability to deliver engaging online road and workplace safety presentations to regional and remote communities. This technology will help ensure vital safety messages reach more people, more effectively.

The Paraplegic Benefit Fund has expressed deep appreciation for the support received from PEACH contributors and Beyond Bank. This grant will help them extend their reach and continue delivering life saving education that contributes to safer roads, safer workplaces, and stronger communities.

PEACH funding expands Earbus Foundation of WA newborn hearing screening in the Southwest 🌟
$15,500 for EasyScreen INTABR Ear Cups Cradle
(including $5,000 from our partners, Beyond Bank)

Earbus Foundation of Western Australia has expanded its newborn hearing screening capability in the Southwest thanks to the support of Alcoa Australia employees through the employee-run volunteer charitable trust, PEACH (Personnel Employed at Alcoa Charity Help). PEACH funding has enabled Earbus to purchase a state-of-the-art easyScreen newborn hearing screening device to support the long-standing Alcoa Bunbury Hearing Health Program, strengthening early detection and intervention for infants across the region.

“The earliest weeks and months of life are critical for hearing and brain development,” said Earbus CEO Dr Lara Shur. “This investment from PEACH allows us to strengthen early detection at the very start of a child’s life.”

Earbus currently screens more than 1,200 children each year across 33 schools, day care centres and early learning centres in the Southwest. The addition of dedicated newborn screening equipment will allow the program to extend its reach to babies in their earliest weeks and months of life, a critical period for identifying hearing issues before they impact speech, language and cognitive development.

“PEACH exists so that Alcoa Australia employees can directly support initiatives that make a real difference in our local communities where we work, and live,” said Trish Morris, PEACH President. “We’re pleased to support Earbus in providing newborn hearing screening capability in the Southwest program to help ensure local families have access to early support in community when it matters most.”
“This contribution demonstrates the tangible impact of locally driven partnerships,” Dr Shur continued. “By investing in initiatives that directly benefit their own communities, Alcoa employees are helping ensure more local families have access to timely hearing checks and follow-up support close to home.”

The grant for the new equipment builds on the established collaboration between Earbus, PEACH and Alcoa Australia in the region and strengthens early childhood health services across the Southwest. The equipment was purchased in early 2026 and is already being used to screen newborns who may have missed their initial hearing screening, or who require follow up services, as part of the Alcoa Bunbury Hearing Health Program.

A huge heartfelt thank you to all the Alcoa employees who chose to donate to PEACH

We are proud to announce our support for Bedingfeld Park Aged Care Facility, a community-owned, not-for-profit nursing home dedicated to providing accommodation and nursing care for older people in the Peel Region.
The PEACH - Personnel Employed at Alcoa Charity Help grant for an aquarium-themed wall mural has been installed. This visually engaging feature is designed to enhance the aesthetic and atmosphere of the unit, creating a calming and welcoming environment for residents and visitors alike.
Beyond its visual appeal, the mural will serve as a therapeutic and stimulating tool, offering opportunities for meaningful engagement and interaction. Such initiatives are proven to support best practice in dementia care, fostering a more inclusive and supportive environment that improves quality of life for some of the most vulnerable members of our community.
Thank you to the Alcoa employees past and present who chose to donate to PEACH.
